I couldn't game without them. I love minis and have a large collection, mostly unpainted of course. I'm a slow painter, but do some quality work when motivated. To toot my own horn, I scored a perfect 30/30 in the scoring category at the GW Baltimore Fantasy GT 2 years ago. Now if I only find the time to paint more often.

Right now I'm infatuated with Rackham's Confrontation line. Since they are for a tabletop skirmish game divided into warring factions they don't have generic adventurers. They are simply the best minis made right now. Non-stop detail to die for and style out the wazoo. Those French guys know design.

Wow! A perfect score? Just to toot Thorntangle's horn a little more that is a really rare thing to see at the GW Tourneys. I would love to see your work - my paint jobs are good but that's compared to bare unpainted metal ;)

Sometimes we play with minis. Depends on the DM, some of them don't like to use battlemaps or minis at all. We like to mix it up a bit, too.

Always.

We always use mini's. And if we don't have appropriate ones, I convert ones to match and/or sculpt my own.

Finding stuff for modern games (not sci-fi) is my newest challenge (and a lot of fun)
