Mind Flayer vs Aboleth conflict influences Giths vs 'Thids dynamic

Aboleth first appear in I1, iirc (Dwellers in the Forbidden City), where there is one lurking as a major player in a ruined city full of... all kinds of stuff, really. That's where yuan ti come from, too.

(snip) The Aboleths can sometimes can even be seen in the cities. They appear in large blackened tanks (similar in-concept to Navigator tanks from Dune), draped with cloth to hide the Aboleth inside. (snip)

My first 3E campaign was based on 2E's Night Below but I also had special golems that were essentially giant rectangular gelatinous "cubes" that the aboleths were able to "wear" when they needed to leave the water. These were, of course, inspired by the navigator tanks in Dune.

I'd think the most likely alliance among those four races are Aboleth-Githzerai.

Working through its mind slaves, the aboleth will approach a figure of influence among an enthusiastic but not too well-informed 'zerai organization. It would try to manipulate them, diverting their attention to the mind flayer organization it has a bone to pick with. It would probably to cautious too, since both gith races are notoriously resistant against mental tricks.
If the aboleth can provide viable information to track down the 'thids the plot could likely work, but eventually the 'zerais would likely find out if they're being played.

Anyway, it does seem there's ample room for many types of aberrations to work their influence here, depending on how much they interact with each other in relation to their shared Far Realm origins.
