My wife and I have a tradition of decorating a small tree with our favourite D&D minis. This year's is special for two reasons: it's our first tree as a married couple... but more importantly - she found the ultimate tree topper! :D

The whole tree:

My favourite part of the whole process happened while we were out buying decorations. I was looking at lights for the tree (confession time: I was min/maxing for lights/dollar) when she tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Look, a gazebo!"

There may have been some Snoopy-like happy dances shortly after that. Partly because I had a gazebo mini, but also because I have a wife that's geeky enough to know why a gazebo mini is awesome. :) :)

Yes. Your wife is almost as much of a geek as you are. It took a long time for me to realize this, because she doesn't always come off as all that geeky. But the day I saw her wear a periodic table of the elements SKIRT, and wear it with pride, I knew she was one of us. ;)

And I know that's supposed to be a white dragon, but I swear it looks like a dracolich to me.

That's deserving of a little tale.

Mate phoned me up from the wilds of the North on 23rd. He'd taken the frozen Christmas Tree into the house and it was melting and dropping needles everywhere. He wasn't concerned though, as his cleaning mad ex-wife was coming for Christmas and she was guaranteed to compulsively clean anything before Christmas dinner.

Trouble was, the damned tree was at least two feet too long for the living room, so it needed cut. The solution, he'd got his chainsaw out in the living room and . . .

Awesome tree. Photos yoinked.

Great selection! (So many minis, so little room to display them all, right?)

You've upscaled from a Noble Fir in 2006 to a (is that a . . .) Grand Fir in 2010? (Clearly not a Douglas Fir, as the needles lie flat.)

Loved the '06 Treant.
Next idea: get another very small tree, hang a few (Medium-treant) "Wizened Elder Watcher" figures (from War of the Dragon Queen) from that, and hang tiny baubles from them: "decorate the decorations."
