Miniature cases.

I will second that. I have an Army Transport for my 40K stuff and it is the best miniatures case I have ever owned.

It is the most versatile: purchase the depth of foam tray you need and pluck out the exact footprint of your miniatures. (Your dragon miniature has a home!)

It is also one of the most reasonably priced for the sheer amount of minis it holds. I can get an entire 2000 point army in there, including two trays of support vehicles and 40-50 miniatures. The whole case is less than 2 feet tall and cost me about $70, IIRC.

Oh I hate you all! You all make me spend my money!!! ;) :D

Zander, those Case Club boxes look very interesting. I couldn't see on the website--do they have proper hinges or do they depend upon a little bit of flexible plastic?

I don't know. I think they may be the same as the Chessex ones only with more choice and lower prices. The best thing to do is give Case Club a call.

If they have the hinges you don't like, check out their other boxes. They've got sturdier boxes - they're just heavier and more expensive.

Go to Wal_Mart. They have 2 layered pistol cases there for $10. Can't beat that, but you do have to tolerate the gaudy american eagle design on the side and the unwanted attention you get from carrying it. The worst I've had happen to me is I've had a few Pabst Blue Ribbons thrust into my hand and been forced to made chitchat about the virtues of Ford vs. Chevy.

GW makes a figure case. Upside - widely available and has slotted foam. Downside - expensive at $35 and the foam is like red sandpaper that can take off a finishing coat after a few months of use.

If you want a pre-made slotted case, a better bet would be the doskocil case with slotted Terrain Specialties Foam inserts. Brookhurst carries them at the same price as GW's, but it's a better case.

I use the Games Workshop Miniture cases. I have about four of these, and they have served as the most durable cases around. They run about $40 but I got mine for 12 on e-bay. Each holds 108 regular sized minis. Or cut the foam for bigger models. Here's the link.
