Iffy. I don't have a need for minis or battlemats, but I do like the D&D info presented so far.

Actually, I'm leaning toward 'no,' now that I think of the Quality Standards police.

The miniatures do nothing for me; they have that whole wizkids lack of quality look to them so this isn't a must for me. Also given the reply I got from WOTC in an email I doubt I will be buying this product. Also it really seems like it's more of a GW product and I have a "few" thousand point Dark Angel Army so I really don' need it if this is really all it is. If it's really miniatures for D&D and the reviews reflect that it's quality. Yeah I'll get it as I can always find real miniatures for it. So maybe.

The question's actually about the D&D Miniatures Handbook. Have you seen the Excerpt for it that WoTC put up on their website, today? If not, here's the link.

It's about 50% material for miniature combat, and 50% material for D&D games, with 4 new Core Classes, new Prestige Classes, Feats, Spells, Magic Items, Monsters, etc.

Hmm. I have been seeing all these ads for D&D Miniatures, saw no need for them and tuned them out.

When I started seeing ads for a D&D Miniatures Handbook, I assumed it was a book for the Miniatures game I already knew I didn't want and tuned it out as well.

I sort of assumed there would be stuff you could pirate back into a 3.5 game, but since it was probably focused on miniatures (being in the Miniatures handbook after all) I just sort of planned on ignoring it.

Now that you have pointed me to the press release, the classes and feats seem ok, but still I don't plan on buying a hardcover book when only 50% of the contents will even apply to my game, let alone be useful in it.

Anyway, my kneejerk reaction to any book that touts it's new core classes isn't too favorable. Feats and PClasses are a dime a dozen, and you expect, nay demand them in your supplaments, but I like the the current list of core classes and have yet to be impressed by new ones. I'm actually in the camp that feels alot of the current core classes should be PClasses.

And anyway, if the Marsal is any indication, I doubt these new core classes will see much use off of a miniatures battlefield anyway.

I really dig the Marshal class, and if there's more stuff in the book that good, I'll pick it up, though i don't plan on playing the mini game.

If there isn't anything else that catches my eye, well, I have the Marshal class already, and an easy way for other players or DM's to review it in games I may play or run. :)
