Miniatures Handbook - Ring of Blades Spell

The spell lasts for 1 min/level, and does 1d6+caster level to anyone within 5'. Now the description says it does this "on your turn", but this seems a bit vague - when on my turn? Suppose I run past someone for several spaces, do they take:

a/ no damage, because it only applies after movement
b/ 1d6+level
c/ 1d6+level per space they are 5' away from me during movement
d/ none of the above

i.e. when is the damage done - before, after or during movement?

I'd be tempted to say that it either does the damage when you do your
non-movement action for the turn (the blades have to fly with you as you
move and can't whizz round at the same time, or some other tenuous
excuse), or that they _can_ do the damage as you move, but any one
target can only be hit once by it.

Has anyone else used it, or come across a clarification?

cheers,

Mark

It's a little soon for official clarification on the Miniatures book...

Off-hand I'd say it would be at the beginning of your turn, before you took any actions.

I think the spell was worded poorly. It should probably effect creatures entering the effected space, on their turn, and have no effect during your turn. But that's not the way its written.

This is true!

Exactly. From the wording, it sounds as though it should be operating continuously, which would seem sensible given the wording, if a bit powerful.
Hm, dunno, will have to think about it!

cheers,
