Missing Archetype / Class? - Enchanter/Dominator - the true Controller

Garthanos

Arcadian Knight
I almost think we have enough classes but maybe it seems their is a classic archetype amongst wizard types that might be a bit under fed... The character defeats enemies by hypnotizing/pacifying/seducing/enthralling/dominating them and getting them to attack there allies... etc....

Can I build a character with that kind of focus currently?

Does anyone have an example of a character built that way?

Or Is it just an Orbizard with the right spell selection dabbling in sorcery? and diplomacy/intimidation.?

Step 1: Be a telepathy psion.
Step 2: Put on a robe and wizard hat.

With wizard hats but do they have to be pointy with stars and cobwebs?.
I think I have amnesia as bad as some of my characters at times... but I havent purchased phb3 yet maybe I can pretend that is an excuse.

On a related note, we need to have a blood ninja class.
Not sure what the "blood" ninja is... but
How is a ninja not a rogue/warlock hybrid/multiclass inquiring minds want to know.

I dont even think the ASSASSIN works as well at this combo... but maybe you will tell me. Based on Naruto there is no one class for ninja

Please don't take more stuff that belongs to the Psion and make the wizard better than the Psion at it.

They promised they wouldn't do that this edition, and they've been better about it, but they still do it.

I don't care if you make an enchanter wizard, but the psion needs to be better at it, it's his schtick.

I think they are trying... can you name some schtick infringement.

I am generally disinclined to add classes.. unless it really is a distinctive archetype in this case I would build an Enchanter character using the psion (now that I am reminded of it) as the basic class if I wanted features with more wizard flavor in it say a character who had a familiar I would take a multiclass feat say learned spell caster then another feat and give him a snake familiar:blush:

Ok, the biggest shtick infringement that I've seen the only one that really bothers me is Memory to Mist

It's a Wizard 2 and Psion have no power or ability that's even comparable.

That and Psions can imposed the dominated condition at level 15 where as bards can do it at level 5!!!

It's such an odd-ball utility as well in that it's one of the only (only?) non-combat power that I've come across. Flavor-wise one of the coolest powers in the game.

I think the problem with enchanter/dominator archetypes is that they are amongst the epitome of save or suck. Dominate is awesome as with economy of actions you've knocked out 20% of the PC's options + added their actions to your side.
