I pulled this from a quick persal of past posts on the Dungeon messageboards. I am sure it is not an exhaustive list, but it covers the main problems.

In the temple of Hextor, location 3, pp.24-25, there is reference to a "large group" of cult fanatics, but a number is never given.
There should be 8

Greataxes are listed at 1d8 damage w/o a strength modifier, heavy flails are listed dealing 1d8+str instead of 1d10, The citadel of Hextor tactics has all the room numbers off by one.

Commoners are listed with proficiencies in 2 weapons, there is a curtain instead of door to Theldrick's room, Garras, Kendra, and Theldrick all wield heavy flails (2-handed weapons) while using shields; we are never told what the book on G&K's table is; grimlocks are not proficient with shields (I'll grant them morningstars); the grimlock barbarian's knives are described as "dull, rusty" and her armor is "battered," but it turns out they are masterwork daggers (complete with +1 to hit) and +1 studded leather armor (and how the heck did she preserve the drow head?); the grimlock chieftain's damage with the greataxe should be 1d12+9 when he is raging; the acolytes of Vecna cast message to warn the Faceless One, but they don't even have that spell in their grimoires, let alone memorized; twice grimlocks are said to use their longspears to hold off PCs, but they don't HAVE longspears.

I will say, in defense of the magazine, that the number of errors in this adventure is not typical of Age of Worms or Dungeon as a whole, but occasionally we do screw up.

Thanks, Jeremy! My group is going to be starting AoW in January, so I'll pass this along to our DM.

But dont forget to tell your DM to now completly change those encouters so that he does not have an Informed Player.

Also as I am runnng AoW have told all of my players not to read anything about it on the Web else they spoil their fun. Plus it is well known to my players that I will punish them for having knowledge of the published mod. Ie experiece point hits and magic items becoming cursed or worse depending on the offence.

Also I would have loved to see the phrase Spoiler Alert some where in the title of this thread> :\

I wasn't sure if requiring no spoilers would have precluded a useful answer.

And, given that I only scanned your answer (not commiting thigns to memory), am a good roelplayer, and have a lousy memory for these things, I think the DM can run AoW as-is. :)

Again this is up to your DM. I just like to have spoiler alerts given any time something is posted that can spoil a mod, a supprise, a movie etc....

I don't know if it is a "mistake" or what, but the map of the Dark Cathedral has got me confused. The description of the room says, "A stairway carved into the curved wall around the pool ascends to a platform thirty feet above the pool." However, the map shows a curved staircase leading to (what looks like) 3 separate platforms.

How did other DMs deal with this (apparent) discrepancy? Did you say there were 3 platforms, or did you delete 2 of them? If the latter, which 2 did you delete? (Did you put the platform at the far (south) end of the pool or on one of the sides (east or west)?

Thanks for your help.

Does anyone have any input on this one? <bump>

I just treated the "side" platforms as smaller ones leading up to the main platform. This had zero impact upon my game.

I think the main issue I had with this module was that the three churches were right next to each other. There is a stack of good threads on the Paizo site with DMs chipping in how they dealt with it.

In the end, I took the caves out of there and put them outside of Diamond Lake, left the Hextorites as the most obvious inhabitants whilst up the other end directly under the platform mentioned above, I had the secret entrance to the labyrinth. Upon entering the labyrinth, I had a magical effect teleporting the PCs into different areas of the Labyrith. This was a lot of fun as the PCs tried to join up with one another whilst defending themselves against the Vecnarites.

On a side note, the picture of the dire weasel inspired me in a rather strange way. If you look at it in a particular way, it looks like a two headed dire weasel with glowing eyes. As such, I made up a two headed fiendish dire weasel (using savage species) and boy was that thing deadly but fun. It attacked the lone cleric who then started screaming for help. Before you knew it, all the kenkus were mimicking the cleric as he proceeded to almost die in a pool of his own blood. By chance, two of the PCs managed to save him.

By the way, two thumbs up for the module. While there were a few minor issues in terms of editting etc. the nucleus of the module was absolutely brilliant.
