Mobility and Dodge

Hi there, quick question, my DM is saying that since the dodge feat only gives you a dodge bonus against a single opponent, that that means all dodge bonuses work this way. Thus, mobility's +4 AC vs. attacks of opportunity will only work against a single opponent. Along those lines, a dwarf vs. 3 hill giants will only get the dwarven +4 dodge AC bonus against one of them, etc.

I think this is wrong, and that a dodge AC bonus will work against multiple attackers, unless of course the bonus is coming from the dodge feat, or you've lost it because you don't get a dexterity bonus. Anyways, please advise, with any references to pages/rules you know of.

Thanks in advance.

Your DM is definitely wrong on this one. I do not have the citations handy, but the feat descriptions themselves are clear. Dodge stipulates the bonus only against a single opponent; Mobility does not. Frankly, if his interpretation were correct, the Tumble/Mobility combination would be near useless.

The Dodge description is exactly that, the description of the Dodge feat. It doesn't apply to every dodge bonus.

The Dodge bonus is limited to one opponent only.
The Mobility bonus is limited to AoO only.

Normally dodge bonuses are not limited this way, that's why they say so in the feat descriptions, because it is not the norm.

Bye
