An original adventure inspired by the Horatio Hornblower novels written by C.S. Forester.

Auggh! You SOB! If I had known that, I'd have never volunteered to run a game that slot!

Horatio Hornblower...sounds interestring indeed...my english teacher ruined the entire thing by showing the movie and really comparing it to the most god-awful book i read all year: Billy Budd *shudders*

And to keep this on topic a little bit more...I have one psychic warrior in the party so far, and I'm thinking of having characters be 2nd or 3rd level...so multiclassing is an option. I'd like to have a fairly diverse party, more psionics would be good, but if we just have one that's just fine...

Heh heh... And that won't even be the best part of the adventure. Just wait and see.

Anyway, yeah... I'd been reading through the Hornblower books recently, and thought, "Hey, there's some great ideas for an Imperial-based Star Wars Campaign here." I was thinking of writing up a series of adventures based on the books for my own personal edification. If I do, I'll post them on-line and pass them around.

More players! We need more players! I'm going to see if my little brother will want to come visit for the weekend... He'd be happy to play in a couple of games.

Jack:

May I take the liberty to suggest three books by David Drake? If so:

Igniting the Reaches
Through the Breach
Fireships

They are an excellent military sci-fi series based on the Hornblower series. There are two things (possibly more :)) that David Drake excels at IMO, military sci-fi, and adapting great, old or ancient stories to the future. If you ever read the Northworld series, you know what I mean. I hope you’ll give the series a try, especially considering your idea to adapt them to Star Wars, and if you try them, drop me a message (I’d be curious).

Slot One - 10AM to 2:30PM
Game 1 - D&D Living Greyhawk
Summary - I think the best way to approach this is to have the players make suggestions as to which scenario to play. I have them outlined here, so if you've played quite a few already, you may wish to step up and make the call.

Mark:

Since we're in Verbobonc, I'd prefer to play a Verbobonc module (as opposed to an adaptable or a core). Giants on the Move has a scary sounding title.

I've already played Forest of Mysteries, Abbey of Intrigue, and Noble Ambitions (well, sort of ;) ).

Updated! :)

Barendd - Sounds good to me. We'll make sure everyone else is on board with that and see what they say. :)

(ghettognome - I wasn't really confused before, just joking around a bit! :D )

Haven't read anything by him... I'll look into it, and thanks for the tip!

Lately by biggest inspirations for SW adventures have been the Solar Queen series by Andre Norton, and the Lucky Starr series by Asimov. But Hornblower seems so easily adapted to Imperial vs. Rebel Star Wars.

I'd recommend them highly to anyone who plays any Sci-fi RPG.

I'm afraid of things that go *BUMP* in the night.

Well hot-diggity damn, I'ze got me another player! Welcome to the nuthouse Darkness8Me! Any idea what sort of character you want to play???

I feel so loved...there's only one more space at my table! :D

Since it's a psionic adventure, I'd go for psychic warrior if you don't mind havin' another. ;)
