[Modern]Bonuses by State?

First Post
OK, I had an idea. Why not give people in a modern setting bonuses by States(or Provinces, or how you divide things up in England, I forget).

If everybody could name bonuses, that'd be great.

New Jersey-
Constitution +2, Charisma -2. Jerseyites are hardier than most from a life of toxic waste, but often angry and abrasive.

+2 to all saves against cold, heat, disease, and poison. Jersey's varied climate and staggering number of ways to get sick and/or die make Jerseyites into bricks.

+2 to Hide(body) and Climb(fence) checks.

Alaska
Stregnth +1 - Cause they grow em strong up there.
Constitution +1 - Brrrrr...... It's cold up there
Int - 1 - You live where? Why for gods sake?
Chr -1 - You Live Where? What kind of freak are you?

+2 on all Cold saves
-2 on Knowledge of The Outside (anywhere not Alaska) ~cause it cost allot of $$$ to leave, so people dont go.

+2 to interupt any convesation with "Hey, I'm from Alaska" and watch the questions begin.

Alaska Roberts

Oh I like this...I'll do my home state and here...

Florida
Constitution -2, Charisma +4. You try to live in a tourist state and not know how to blow people off politely.

+2 Diplomacy checks when giving directions.
+2 saves vs. Heat effects.
-4 saves vs. Cold

Georgian
+2 Str, +2 Con, -2 Int, -2 Cha. While not the brightest or the best talkers, living anywhere near the pollution of the state causes one to gain great resistances to its effects.

+2 saves vs. Poison and pollution.
Lane Surfing(ex): While operating a vehicle, a Georgian may ignore all cars around and move at full speed. All other cars behind this Georgian wreck, causing everyone to sit in traffic for hours.

;)

I'm from Arkansas, so I'm allowed to do this one -

Arkansas
+2 to wilderness lore
bonus feat: Track
+2 to swim
+2 to climb

penalties:
People from Arkansas are not automatically proficient with read/write, and must expend skill points to do so.
-2 to all knowledge skills
-2 Intelligence

New Mexico (a.k.a. the Land of Enchantment)
+2 CON (You have to be fairly hardy to make it through the summer)
-2 INT (Not exactly the smartest people on earth)
+2 Wilderness Lore(Geting by in the desert is not easy)

maybe some other bonuses, i'm not sure...

Massachusetts

Dexterity +2, Charismah -2. Natives of the Commonwealth ah excellent drivahs, capable of navigating the myriad of rotahries, suicide intahsections, and minimum speed limit by-ways, but in doing so have developed very pooah interpahsonal skills, often relying on crude hand gestchas to communicate with othahs. The accent doesn't help, eithah.

+2 extraordinary bonus to Knowledge - Sports History. Though long and painful, there isn't a single peahson in Massachusetts who can't rattle off a series of dates and accomplishments foah the majah league teams based in Boston and the environs.

+4 supernatural bonus to Navigate when in the borders of Massachusetts. The secrets of I-95 and Route 128 have bestowed Massachusettians with a mystical ability to locate themselves anyweah.

-50 penalty to Charismah-based checks with natives of New York City, New York State, people weahing blue and white pinstripes on any ahticle of clothing, anyone who has eveah utteahd the words "1918", "Babe Ruth", or "it was only Game 6 and they still had a chance". The reasoning foah this is obvious.

Thanks
-Matt

DISCLAIMER: Sure, I'm from Western Mass, where we speak like normal human beings, but stereotypes are fun. And we still drive like wild animals, too.

Pennsylvania
+2 CON, -2 CHA. Lives of hunting, fishing, drinking, living under the smokestacks of incinerators, drinking horribly polluted Susquehanna River water and generally being "rednecks" have toughened the Pennsylvanians. However, the same traits tend to make them sort of aloof.

+2 racial bonus to Knowledge (Local). It seems sometimes that everyone in Pennsylvania's towns and villages (not so much the big cities) knows everybody else, and also their complete genealogy. Sometimes, people are even related to practically everyone else in their town, and this can provide unexpected allies.

In addition to the +2 CON all Pennsylvanians receive, members of the extended D/G/R (Droege/Gambler/Rhoads) network of family receive an additional +2 to Fortitude saves to combat the effects of alcohol.

-4 to initial Wealth Bonus (or, alternately, a 60% reduction in available GP). Pennsylvania is almost always in a recession, even moreso than the rest of the country.

I'm doing some stereotyping here, sorry. This is also based on my experiences in my town, and maybe not necessarily all of PA. ;)

Louisiana

+2 Con, -2 Int, -2 Wis, +2 Cha: Louisiana has poor schooling. Louisianians tend to be reckless but are very hospitable. Years of living in a culture based on alcoholism, combined with the pollution from a large number of chemical plants, has made hardier than normal.

+2 to Fort saves vs. extreme heat, but -4 to Fort saves for extreme cold.

+2 to Fort saves related to the consumption of alcohol.

-2 to Will saves to avoid drinking alcohol.

-2 to all Knowledge checks except Knowledge(Local).

+4 to Profession(Cook) and Professsion(Fisher) and +2 to Wilderness Lore/Survival checks to find food. Hunting, fishing, and cooking are a big part of the culture in Louisiana.

-6 to Sense Motive checks vs. politicians.

Special: If the Saints ever win the Super Bowl, a Louisianian must make a Fort save (DC 15) or suffer from a heart attack. If he succeeds, he must make a Will save (DC 30) or be compelled to drink heavily.

Bonus Language: Cajun French.

So Cal:

-2 Wis, +2 Cha

+2 to Bluff checks when using the word "Dude"

-2 to Sense Motive when being addressed by "celebrities"

Fire & Earthquake resistance 2

Chill (Su): As a standard action, may throw off fear effects, but spend the next 1d4 rounds contemplating the coolness of the multiverse.

New Yorker - New York (Manhattan - native)

-2 to Charisma
-4 to knowledge (local, geography) - except when applied to a specific 7-mile-long-3-miles-wide-at-its-widest-point island

Bonuses:
+4 to checks involving navigating subways and other confusing underground systems
+4 to opposing diplomacy checks checks (raises DC to affect New Yorker)
+2 on level checks to generate a DC for intimidation
+1 on reaction checks with other natives (cancels charisma penalty)
+3 on reaction checks with people who want to live in NY (stacks with natives who desperately want to go back)
