Modern/Future Armor and Healing Questions

Ok, first, PL5 Land Warrior Armor is Heavy. Is it not feasible that it could be scaled down to Light by PL6? Or at least Medium? Seems those batteries would have to get smaller/lighter eventually... along with everything else in the LW system.

Second, anyone houserule any type of "healing injection" akin to the Chemical Boost? The Boost is cool, but does nothing for HPs save increase the massive damage threshold. I'm looking for something that will keep troops alive (within reason) for a PL5/6 covert military game (ie. Rainbow 6). I was thinking along the same lines as the Boost but just flat HP, even if their just temporary... Anyone do anything like this or have any input?

Hey there.

For the Land Warrior Armor, you might want to consider the Ultralight Composition gadget - not exactly what you're looking for, but might work. However, if you're trying to require less feats for the same (armor) benefit, you could always just do what you suggested - lower it to Medium (at PL 6) or Light (at PL 7). I'd reduce the weight by 10% (per PL) as well, but keep the other stats the same.

As for a "healing injection", I personally use two different things in my game (storyhour in sig) - Medi-jects and Stim-jects.

The Medi-jects inject nanobots that grant the receiver Fast Healing for 3 rounds - the "strength" of the Fast Healing depends on the type purchased.

Black Market Medi-Ject (Fast Healing 1) PDC: 16
Basic Medi-Ject (Fast Healing 2) PDC: 17
Advanced Medi-Ject (Fast Healing 3) PDC: 19

The second item is a boost to your hit points, granting 2d6 temporary hit points that lasts for 1 minute.
Stim-ject PDC 18

Feel free to use any of these.

If you want the ability as a GM to build stuff from scratch yourself then you should check out my system. I have developed GM toolkits that allows you to design light, medium or heavy armour from scratch. It does not have all the gadgets attached yet, but thats pretty easy to work out.

I have converted the PDC to cash, much easier and much faster.

I have also done up a drugs and chemical toolkit as well.

So design away

Thanks guys.

I am not so much interested in requiring fewer Feats as I am in having the technology of the computer/communications systems available in a lighter armor type... I guess the best thing to do is to just take the lighter armor and add all the stuff as gadgets (HUD, datalink, etc...)

I like the idea of the medi-jects and stim-jects, I thinking of maybe requiring a DC:10 Treat Injury check to administer though...

Aussie, I will have to check your site out after class this morning, but it sounds cool.

I tried joining the group mulitple times Aussie, but the page refused to open for me. Perhaps you could post it here or email me a file containing the info... I am curious to see the drugs and chemical toolkit.

You need to join the group and then it allows me to add you as a member. Its 2Mb worth of stuff, covering everything, so it would be easier for you to join.

I wish PMs and emials worked on this site. I am on d20Future site at WotC all the time too, you can send me your email address from there and then I can directly invite you as a back up.

One thing I made up was
Plastiflesh- spray ed on - instant affect - 5 hp cured. But the final ideas are left up to you to add.

I am thinking of doing nanites next.
