Modern SRD Online!

Unattainable Ideal
Hey d20 Modernizers!

There's now an online, massively hyperlinked version of the d20 Modern SRD available:

RIGHT HERE

Huge thanks to lance at 12 To Midnight for coming up with the hosting space. I'm glad it's finally found a home.

It's a little flaky under Internet Explorer (due to that browser's by-now-legendary inability to display CSS correctly), and since I'm doing this for free, I don't care enough to figure out how to hack around IE's failures. Looks fine in Mozilla, though!

:D

Anyway, if you come across errors in the site, let me know. I might even fix them.

Let me know what you think! If there are any features that would make it more useful to you, I wanna know.

Thanks!

Hey... when Andy Smith finally gets around to updating the MSRD with the Urban Arcana stuff... you going to update that HTML version?

Maybe. Depends on when MSRD gets updated and how many other things I have to do. Just doing this much was a lot of work and I don't get paid to do it so I won't promise to do any more.

one thing that WOULD make it more useful... an offline version...
Well, if you can configure PHP and Apache on your machine, it's dead simple. I'll send you the couple of background scripts that hold it together if you like. If you can't get PHP (4.3, by the way, 4.2 won't do it) and your web server running, sorry, can't help you. On my Mac I just click "Enable web sharing" and everything works.

I warn you: I am a PHP and programming neophyte and so the code is likely to cause experienced programmers to chuckle themselves to death. I'm not responsible.

One important point (since this is hosted on a publisher's Web site) - you should probably call it the Modern SRD, not the d20 Modern SRD. "d20 Modern" is not in the Modern SRD, and it is also a registered trademark of WotC...

Other than that, it looks great - thanks :)

Oh, and thank you!

I think that needed to be said.

I haven't looked at it yet, and I'm on my way to class at the moment, so I probably won't be able to before this thread falls off the page and into oblivion (isn't that where old threads go?).

I am interested in getting ahold of the files for it though, since I have a Mac as well, and can easily have it on my computer!

WHOOPS! Thanks, j. I had no idea. I'll get right on that.

There goes my nifty logo! :D
