Okay, as far as I understand it Chris, John and Dave are the people making it (maybe) around 3 or 4. Problem is no one is certain and we will only be able to play until 7 anyway. Therefore, I think it behooves us all to cancel.

On another note, I am a little frustrated with the lack of coordination and ability of anyone to show up for games! Vince and I started the game hoping that at least two people could make it on a regular basis. However, to date this has not happened. Granted, I know we all have lives, but is there a way we can solve this problem? Is it a scheduling thing? Can we accomodate you in a better way?

It's not a scheduling thing, it's a too darn busy thing. I've been working most weekends on this big project of mine. It should be over next weekend tho. As for canceling, I was either going to be late tomorrow or not make it because of said project and work. :( Everyone have a Happy Memorial Day. =)

Just curious, but is this big project for work?

I would like to get a real schedule going again soon. Vince will be completing his grad work and I am almost always available on saturdays. Do you think you will be able to really commit soon to a bi-weekly schedule? Bob is usually pretty free on saturdays, but I am not sure how enthusiastic he is about playing. Anyone else? Thoughts? Ideas?

At least for me, it has just been a really bad couple of months - work-wise. For example, I've had two conferences that happened to fall on game weekend.

Overall though, I've been enjoying the game and I'm looking forward to continuing it.

And for what it is worth, I just got home from our camping trip and was thinking of missing today's game 'cause I'm just beat. My wife convinced me that I should come because I have so much fun playing. So, I'm sad we aren't playing today.

I think I am just spoiled. Years ago we would have four or five regulars darned near every week. Now, it just isn't that way. I am having fun too. That is why I want to continue at a more vigorous pace. I am unsure what to do, though. If it is just a matter of everyone being too danged busy, I guess there is no solution save welfare, food stamps, unemployment and lots of role playing. :)

Yep, it's a project for work. I'm good for going regular soon. I will say right now that I am unavailable in two weeks because I have friends coming from out of town.

Here's a schedule...

June 9th (can't play)
June 23
July 7 (can't play, I'm going to be in St. Louis 4th of July weekend)
July 21

That's the schedule we've been on. Another thing we should consider is playing even if only two or three people show up instead of so readily cancelling the games. The GM will just have to throttle some things back or do a side quest or whatnot.

Well, this present schedule allows that you play once a month. Surely there is time to be gaming more than this...

What if we set up an alternate day or something? I don't know. Perhaps we could shift the schedule. Vince is finishing up his masters work soon. Maybe he will have some ideas...

Maybe Friday nights at my house is a possibility. That way Vince's kids won't have their sleeping routine interrupted. It's a thought...

Well, it just makes sense with an every two week schedule that if someone misses an adventure, it's a month between adventures for that person... ;) We're on the weekends we're on because Vince doesn't have the boys that weekend. I can't play on Sundays of the weekends we play on because I play in another campaign. We won't be able to do the opposite Sundays because we're starting up Chachi's superhero game every two weeks starting June 3rd which everyone is welcome to join, but I realize that for many reasons superheroes ain't everyone's cup of tea. I can't currently do Friday nights because I play softball in the summertime and partway into the fall...plus, it's traditionally the night that my neighbor and I go and hang out, not that the two of us couldn't come play boardgames or shoot pool or something sometimes tho. :)

It's really OK. Just because I can't make a couple of games doesn't mean y'all can't play. When we started this, we figured we'd have at least 3 or 4 guys to play every week. Now, granted we've had some very extenuating cancellations and I know that's frustrating for everyone. We've even had a few cancellations that mean no matter how many people were going to show up we couldn't play...like when the GM had more important things to do like studying and writing papers. It happens. I think we just need to be patient and ride out the storm and all will be well. There's gonna be times when I say I can play and then something will come up preventing me from doing so the day of the game (or even a few minutes before start time, ya never know). The same could happen to you, Thormagni, Bob, Vince, or any of us. We're not kids with unlimited time on our hands...we've got responsibilities. But y'know what? We're going to make it whenever we can and when we do make it we're going to have a great time. =)

I agree with everyone. I really enjoy the game and campaign, and I look forward to playing again soon and honestly wish that I was playing more often. It's a hobby that I enjoy and it's a nice release for me, not to mention the social aspect of the whole thing, hanging out with cool people and enjoying your company. I couldn't be happier with the group.

But as fun as that hobby is, I'm not willing to make it the most important thing in my life. I hope that none of us are. So things come up, whether that be family, kids, work, school, travel, health, degenerate pool playing, or something else entirely. I knew that my attendance would be spotty at times when we started, and it has been.

I think that our present set up works as well as it can for everyone. I'm open to changing days and times around if will work better too. I can't promise better attendance on my part, but I'll be there every session that I can. But more than anything, I think that we should move forward with the group and not break anything up because from what I'm reading everyone enjoys it and feels like it's a positive experience.
