(Mongoose) Licences and RPGs

What about the Lone Wolf gamebooks?

Does their new license allow Mongoose to re-release the Lone Wolf gamebooks? If so, are there any plans to do so, and if not, are there any plans to acquire such a license?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Well, at least inquiring minds that want to finish their LW collection do...

Thus far you guys have failed to disapoint me... keep it up! I'm sure any lisences you get will rock... Heck, my only exposure to Judge Dread was the movie, and I have no experience with Slaine what so ever, and I love both... I can't see how you could disapoint me with two licesnes I know and love.

I still wish you would pick up the license to Valdemar as an RPG setting, though... *sigh*.

Interesting question! I don't know if it would be a good move (though I would buy them) as you can get most of them free (legally) online at www.projectaon.com.

12,000 to one? Huummmmm, English expressions. Engish RPG publisher, English Fantasy Series?

I duuunnnnooo?

Nah - Rowling won't even think about letting anyone do an rpg until she's finished the books, and anyway, WotC have tried.

I'm going to lay a fiver on Stargate SG-1, but I'm fairly sure it isn't that...

Will LW d20 use D&D rules?

Hey Mongoose Matt, will the LW d20 use the D&D rules, or will it be more like Modern d20 with its own take on the rules?

I'm also curious how you are going to solve the big issue of what to do about the Kai Lords. Core class? Pretige class? NPC-only class?

We are very big fans of bending rules to fit the genre, not the other way around so yes, I would imagine there will be great differences between Lone Wolf and D&D. If you fancy taking a gander at what I mean, Armageddon 2089: WarMek and the-game-that-still-cannot-be-mentioned released early next year will show you just what games like this can look like.

The Kai Lord class I already have kinda sketched out and, once I have tweaked a few things, I'll be posting it on the Lone Wolf mailing list for comment. It will be a core class and, of course, players will be allowed to take it (how could they not in a LW RPG? :)). BTW, the RPG will be set about 50 years prior to the gamebooks.

I would suggest that with Hogshead getting out of the business, WHFRPG and SLA industries are both available and I currently doubt that GW wants to get back into RPG work but that they have at least 2 very very nice properties that have a huge fan base currently. I would hope to see a WHFRPG and perhaps if successful a WH40KRPG down the road.
