well, it sounds like it's been in the works before the decipher debacle.

also, there are other clue, such as it having been in one 'old book' and ther ehaving been comics and movies of it in the past IIRC...

also, it has to have the potential for big battles... and I would guess relatively little continuity for lots of comics to be viable...

Hmm, both those can fit for BG and ST, though the sony connection on BG is the only thing I'm not getting. Someone earlier said it may be about the game on the PS2, but then it was also on the GC and XBox. Either one would be frakin fun!

Well, let's see... Conan's already theirs... Black Company went to Ronin... T20... Star Wars... Bab5...

Hmmm...

Not much left I really care about...

Traumaville: The Role-Playing Game?
The Lion, Witch & Wardrobe Goes Epic?
Lolita?

Is Starship Troopers really considered 'bigger' than Dune? I'd be rather dissapointed in the hype if I found it to be less than an iconic setting/game/whatever being developed. EQ, Dune, LotR are all 'bigger' than anything else... ST, not so much. YMMV.

...Alias...

I have to ask, what is the attraction? Why is it cool? Why would an RPG for it be great?
Well if my brother is any indication it's not the series you want to license, it's the woman who stars in it... :p

I'm wondering, what is Black Company (that somebody attributed to Green Ronin). I would think if this Mongoose license supposed to be something big the non geeks should recognize it too. :D

In fantasy, I can't think of bigger licenses than Lord of the Rings and Conan, unless somebody got Harry Potter, the Oz Universe (and I don't mean the guy on cable), Wonderland (Alice), or Narnia.

If you pulled 'Joe Smoe' off the street of any english speaking country in the world and asked them to list what they knew of
fantasy - those are the things I would expect to come up most (although many people not see OZ or Wonderland as fantasy), that and 'fairy tales' such as the Grim's volumes.

That's assuming it's a fantasy license and not say... Mad Max d20 (which is not big anymore...).

I agree. And "Think Bigger" than Bond? Curiouser and curiouser!

Harry Potter is the only thing that comes to mind as bigger than Bond...

But I've always heard Rowling was against an RPG adoptation. That said I would expect her to trust a fellow Anglo with it before an American. If somebody did that license, they could -own- this industry with it.
