(Mongoose) WarMech - Armageddon 2089

I have a question...

I was wondering why everyone keeps on the same ideas as the previous company. Why not use other races and incorporate the demi-humans from D20 into the game as well which would flesh out the world even more. NO ONE has done a world with all the other races still living and making their own style mechs. Battletech is a Universe filled with humans and super-humans (clans). Why not use the demi-humans and expand on that idea.
I would like to see a mecha game for D20 system where I could use the players handbook plus the mecha supplement. The dwarves would have powerful and slow-moving mechs while the elves would have sleek and fast moving mechs. While the humans have a mixture of both of these types of mechs. On top of this maybe create a new mage type that also would mix technology and magic together.
I myself am into these types of sci-fi games where I run a game for fantasy players along with Sci-fi players and everyone is loving the games. That's what I loved about the Rifts game, but the combat system bogged down the game to much. I love technology but also love the mystery behind arcane spell casting as well and some of my players also love this aspect of a role-playing game as well. I have a campaign world that I started on a long time ago with all elements in the game, but since coming over to the D20 system from Palladium system, I've put a hold on the game until a company comes out with technology for the original D20 rules and not the modern D20 rules.
I also would like to see one day something I worked on get published and would like to E-mail someone the stuff I have written so far.

Dwarven Godfather,

You're looking for a D20 mech setting which doesn't exist at the moment. The closest you'll come is GOO's D20 Mecha and DP9's Mecha Compendium. AFAIK D20 Mecha is a sourcebook that allows you to create your own Mechs for D20, so it will give you the tools you need to design the setting you've described. DP9's Mecha Compendium, according to their site will have magic powered mechs so you might see some racial specific mechs in the book.

sounds like just the thing one need to buy, however I wonder what level of costomization can you do on the mechs (I assume weapons goes without saying... but beyond that!)?
How much details will it give on various nations individual role in this war? (will for example EU Federation just be treated as one or will they be treated individually).
If hand weapons are near deadly every shot, what has been done to ensure you don't have to make up new characters ALL the time (which takes annoyingly long time)?

The mechs in this game are going to be customisable beyond belief. If it appears on your mech, you are going to be able to swap it out, replace or upgrade it. If you just want to climb into a mech and start blasting, there are plenty of standard designs - however, if you are a real mech-head, there really is nothing you cannot change. . .

We are trying to squeeze as much background material as possible into the main rulebook, so I am hoping various countries will be dealt with independently, but we'll just have to see.

The weapons vs. characters rules has under gone a lot of revision through playtesting. At this time (and playtesting is still going on), there are no instant death weapons - just some very, very nasty ones :)

hmm out of personal interest ;-) what is greenland? taken over by the US or still being hold by the EU Fedaration (as in currently a danish colony).

heck tell me how denmark is doing *grins* PLEASE! hehe.

kewl ;-)

*writes down a personal note to use this individual in the future to extract info on mongoose publishing, and crosses over his old*

I guess I'll have to wait until March

I guess I'll have to wait until March for my Dwarven Mafia to come to life in the Dragonstar universe and their power armor suits unleashed upon the Red Legion. Which of course is what I'm working on for the Dragonstar universe.
You wouldn't happen to have the mecha pilot character class available for us to see at this time, Do you? Or any new feats that would be available to introduce into a D20 game system as an option?
Oh, I know I'll get out my old Rifts books and convert the Skills and powers from there instead that's not copyrighted by Palladium Books.:p
