I am considering replacing a Monk's class skill... specifically, Knowledge (Arcana) and replacing it with Knowledge (Religon). It doesn't seem to make much sense, especially with a lot of Monk prestige classes requiring many ranks in Knowledge (Religon).
Alternatively, instead of giving Monks a boost, I was planning to lower the requirement a bit... anytime it says Knowledge (Religon) and gives a number of ranks as a pre-requisite to a prestige class that seems appropriate for monks (And not strictly religious, like Divine Fist), I was thinking to cut the rank requirement in half and instead make the required skill be Knowledge (Philosophy) since it seems to make more sense.
The tradeoff here is lower ranks, meaning the monk can acquire the pre-requisite easier and earlier, versus the more limited application of Knowledge (Philosophy) vs. Knowledge (Religon).
Less useful skill, but you need less ranks in it, and it makes more sense to me. Comments?
