They still can. CHR dependency can be avoided in Warlocks if you avoid invocations that require saving throws, as I did with mine. You will be slightly behind in UMD-fu and social fu but that is not too serious. The acccumulation of skill ranks in this and any social-fu skills you wish will quickly overshadow the -1 from the lowered Chr.

I shudder to think where the Eldritch Blast comes out of fir these jungle goblins...

I suggest looking at Apes of Nature, Myth, & the Imagination by Betabunny Publishing. It has several races of sentient monkeys (including chimps) along with a wealth of information (society, their god, etc.), not to mention other monkeys covering everything from real apes to King Kong-sized monstrosities!

There's also the wakyambi elves from Nyambe. They're Medium-sized, but have a Climb speed (IIRC), fur, a tail, and are LA +0 (with a +2 Cha modifier, to boot).

There is a "Brachiation" feat in complete adventurer that makes you good at climbing and moving through the forest. That one seems perfect for your concept here.

No, no, no. What I *don't* want is the gliding. The halfling stats will do fine, but I wish they had speed 30 and possibly a Climb speed (maybe achievable through a feat?... Hmmm...).

Climb speed? Hell that's easy. Give it to them AND give them like a +5 bonus on climb checks. Goodness knows the gnomes of the Glamganjus in the Scarred Lands have that. (I have considered tweaking it to allow them a climb speed) I mean it's not like they can leviate at will or something. Climb speeds on a +0 LA isn't that huge in my book. I mean if they are water, where the heck are they gonna climb to?!

I made a homebrew race a few years back that might be up your alley - the ghuru. Small, climb speed, LA +0.

Looking for a monkey/chimp-like race. Small-sized is best, although Medium is acceptable. LA+0 if at all possible. Anyone seen anything like this?
