Monks unarmed attack bonus/

arbados

Explorer
A player in the game is a 3rd level monk. His BAB is +2 and his Unarmed attack bonus is a +2. Does the unarmed attack bonus of +2 stack with the BAB +2 or is it completely seperate? I didn't see this mentioned anywhere in the players handbook. I know that the monks strength bonus definately stacks with both. Additionally, he is a drunken master level 3. Does this level allow the monk to assume a 6th level monks unarmed attack bonus or does the prc not allow for this?
Thanks

The monks UBAB and BAB are completely seperate.

When making an attack unarmed or with one of the special monk weapons, the character may use whichever he prefers.

When making attacks with any weapon that isn't described as a special monk weapon, the character must use his BAB.

In both cases Str is the default attribute added to the AB.

In the case of the Drunken Master prestige class, the BAB from the prestige class is added to both the character's BAB and UBAB. However, please note that while the Drunken Master's higher UBAB would normally allow for more than 5 attacks, Skip Williams has clarified that that was never the intent.
