Monster Builder (the non-online one) gets a patch!

Unfortunately, the bugs I ran into most frequently haven't changed a bit. Alternate movement speeds, triggers, and recharges still get fracked up when you "Edit a Copy". I'm not sure what they did fix...

Well that was a big disappointment!

I've installed the update and played around with it a bit. Unfortunately, there's still a number of issues.

  • There's no documentation as to which bugs were fixed.
  • Triggered powers and recharge powers seem to be working better, but they don't function quite right yet.
  • Speeds, resistances, vulnerabilities, and immunities don't give the correct values when editing a copy.
  • The default damage values for new monsters don't reflect the MM3 errata.
  • The program still has a huge memory leak.

This is either a cruel joke or a mistake. I'm hoping for the later - maybe the uploaded the wrong build of the program and the real bug fix will be available soon.

Or maybe not. But I just can't see the point of WotC squandering their little remaining good will by posting a bug fix update that doesn't contain any bug fixes.

I'm overjoyed to see this. :)

I expect the venom that the mishandling of the new CB generated prolly convinced WotC that this was a wise course. Whatever, I'm very glad. Here's hoping that the new online MB isn't too far from being fine-tuned...

Doesn't it seem a bit embarrassing to call your 'update' an update and then say there's no identifiable data in the update for your users?

Couldn't they at least have said -- fixing bugs?

Advanced Dungeon Master´s Guide.

I really really hope this includes all monster and NPC building stuff ommitted in the Essentials line. If this is the case I am really really happy!

Someone needs to remind them that because the DM kit has magic items now that it should be one of the books included in Compendium updates.

Just be careful if you like RPGA monsters as the update removes them (according to a few users on Wizards site)

They also confirmed that the issues with editing a monster and triggers disappearing remains, and the recharge power problems continue.
