Monster Hunter Soundtrack

OK, I am getting ready for a campaign dealing with a group of monster hunters in the desert and really need a soundtrack that evokes that hot desert night fighting werewolves etc feel. Think John Carpenter's Vampires or the old Werewolf T.V. Show...

so far I have a few: Bob Seger, Turn the Page. Phil Collins, Air of Night. Commodores, Easy. Tom Waits, Goin' Out West and Hang on St. Christopher. ANy other ideas along these lines?

Any Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, especially the song "Red Right Hand"

If you are not familiar with them, they are a kinda strange mix of lounge and goth. Weird, but very cool and I think appropriate for what you are looking for.

Ah, Red Right Hand is a great, creepy song. I first heard it on Songs in the Key of X and later it showed up in a couple of movies, notably Scream.

Two old songs that were never meant to be creepy but show up in creepy movies constantly;
Percy Faith - Theme From a Summer Place (instumental)
Example: This one played in Con Air as a dead body fell from a plane and into traffic.
Santo and Johnny - Sleepwalk
Example: Stephen King's Sleepwalkers.
Probably not what you're looking for, but in a very specific type of situation they work great for freaking the players out.

Songs in the Key of X probably has a few other good songs for this sort of thing. Unmarked Helicopters by Soul Coughing and Frenzy by Screamin' Jay Hawkins are favorites of mine. They must be at least a little appropriate for this or they wouldn't have used them in X-Files in the first place. :)

An lot of Alabama 3 (AKA A3, not to be confused with the band Alabama) would work for this. You might know them from the theme to Sopranos.

Wow - someone else who actually listens to A3! (I only know of one other person who knows of them/llistens to them on a regular basis) Their version of Hotel California might be pretty good for something like this.

For my own 2 cents: Maybe Run Rabbit Run from House of 1000 Corpses. Might be a bit much, but for a good chase scene it would work.
