I wish they'd asked about what kind of monsters we'd like to see.

Personally, my main use is for Heroic-Tier "NPC" monsters; PC-race 'monsters' like Human Town Guard, Dwarf Axeman, etc.

And I said: more fluff = no cash for ya ;)

All the crunch and much more is in DDI + Monster Builder.

I seriously won't spent a cent on MM3 if there's no more fluff than usual. I can see all art on website's gallery and the crunch is on MB.

And yet any significant increase in fluff is going to result in fewer useful statblocks in the MM3, and that's an outcome I don't want to see happen. I'd be much happier with a monster manual that had nothing but statblocks than I would a monster manual that had too much fluff and not enough statblocks.

I'm with Avin on this. Since I get all the crunch through DDI and the monster builder, I want the cool nifty story inspiration in the MM books. You know, the best strategy for "crunch only" people may actually be to buy a one month subscription every six months. That updates their monster builder with every monster to date, giving them a ton of crunch with none of the story bits. Cheaper, too!

To me that seems like a very dishonest way to do things, like the people who signed on here, grabbed the free stuff and canceled their community support.

Not really - it is an option directly available within their subscription service. The price for buying a single month is disproportionately higher than buying multiple months at a time, for precisely that reason. And it does come with a downside - you don't get that new info during the months you aren't subscribing. I'm perfectly happy as a subscriber to pay month to month, and get everything I want as it becomes available. If someone wants to wait several months for it and get it in limited doses, that doesn't other me.

Well, I'm not a subscriber (yet) and I like my books, i.e. even if I was a subscriber I'd still buy the monster manuals just to have them in print.

I did actually suggest two pieces of fluff I'd like them to add:
- a short textual description of the monster (as in 1-2 sentences)
- favored climate/terrain (this should be a searchable entry for the compendium)

But anything more would be too much fluff for a monster manual. I'd rather see them publish more ecology/setting style books like 'Open Grave' or 'Plane Below' which also include 'lairs', sample encounters, npcs, adventure ideas, etc.
