don't bring up the Xaren

I read that and jumped to the conclusion a Xaren is a Xorn that has a inflated sense of entitlement and demands to speak with the manager when it doesn't get what it wants.

Seems about 25 less then other creatures its level. Maybe the siege monster trait is mathematically significant to WotC after all.

I mean, if the PCs are on top of a building when fighting this thing...

It also does lots of AoE damage every other turn.

Your suggestion that the Gargoyles are the Earthfolk is a good one.

I guess that would make them Neutral, rather than Chaotic Evil.

I really liked Disney's version of Gargoyles, with a complex array of motivations across different clans.

Created during a time when the writing was chef's kiss imo.

Making D&D Gargoyles into Disney Gargoyles would be a more radical change than associating Lizardfolk with the Elemental Plane of Earth.
