Looks like oddball critters still rule, in the 3e monster tomes. They banished the flumph, but give us the ether scarab? ::groan:: Not that I have anything against oddball critters, mind you.

Nice to see the ixitxachitl back, though the new morkoth looks like Stripe from "Gremlins".

Disappointment in the Monsters

Greetings

Looking through the art work, and I was distracted from the beauty by how many monsters that are in other 3rd ed. publications already. Reprinting materials was(is?) one of the major flaws from old wizards/TSR works. I see enough orginal material to make this a good purchase, but the possiblity of this showing up in the future more worries me.

Hopes for MM2

Greetings

Looking through the list of monsters, I am REALLY hoping that there are lots of templates, not just a few example monsters. Here is the quick list:

Dire Animals
Legendary Animals
Titanic Creatures

I don't mind a few exmaples, but the use of a template so I can 'promote' an animal would be nice. Those templates are a great idea, but I feel that they are underused and underdeveloped.

Looks like some really good new and old creatures are going to be included.

glad to see Hook Horros have returned to the traditional look..much better.

Boggles....i love these creatures but the picture was a disappointment....as for some weird reason they've gon blue and lost their boggle eyes... now having small round yellow ones instead... instead of big round bulging ones, as a result doesn't look overly golumnish anymore

Automatons..very interesting.

Does anybody know anything about the doomguard creature? Is it just the ps faction(OOO i hope so), or just a creature named doom guard? I remember they were in Lord of hte iron fortress, but i didn't check it out.

Ehh...I was on the fence with this book anyway..I'm glad they put up the pics and monsters, now I know for sure I don't want it.

I'll wait for ToH now and see what monsters are going to be in that.
