I live by the rule that you can never have too many monsters. Ever.

Buy a book about theme X and you might never have the opportunity to use anything out of it. Buy a monster book and every session is a chance to throw something at the PCs that they have never seen before.

Amen, brother.

I got my copy of the MM3 yesturday, and although there are a couple that are perhaps too Eberron for my games, the rest of the book is a perfect addition to my monster collection.

I bought it. I read it over, and I found half dozen I plan to use in an upcoming dungeon

(the Fortress of the Half-Fiend in Rasheman in the Realms)

I have about 35 monsters books now, and I love it :)

Not because "I don't have enough swamp monsters" (or whatever), but because anything in the new book that I really like will probably inspire me to use it in ways I wouldn't have used the old ones.

This is exactly what happened to me with Races of Stone. One of the characters in my campaign is a barbarian from the mountains whose people returned to their evil ways. With the Goliaths in there, I'm going to add them to the backstory that the barbarians wiped out most of them when the character was young so he doesn't remember them and they're seeking vengance now! The Whipser Gnomes have now become hidden masters of the art of assassination and spying and are very expensive, limiting their apperances only to 'serious' bidders.

Well, two days ago I was not sure if I would be picking it up but decided to anyway along with Frostburn.

After looking at it I still think it has too many variation to monsters, how many trolls, gaints and orgers do we need? It also has way too many humaniod monsters, give me critters :D. I see about seven or eight creatures I may use.

Well, in Greyhawk, there are places you can fit Warforged in. For example, you can make them extraplanar. Give them an alignment of "Always lawful (any)" and the Extraplanar subtype, place them on Mechanus, and you have an exemplar race somewhere between the modrons and the inevitables.

Yoink! Great idea!

Same reason I haven't bought any 3.5 stuff.

Price: $34.95

If that's the only reason, seems a bit of a weak arguement. I'm sure people have already done an Amazon share the love bit and I know many game stores have sales and other places like Wallmart are selling it online fairly cheap.

I just picked up MMIII and I LOVE it. But then, undead, golems and oozes are my favorite beasty types.

I also picked up Frostburn, but haven't had a chance to look at it yet...stupid work interfering with my gaming...
