I thought about buying it, but the bills said otherwise :( I'm saving my money for Masque of the Red Death, Wizards' undead sourcebook and November's Complete Arcane.

No, I've already got the MM, MM2, FF and Warcraft: MoM and I haven't finished using the monsters in them yet. (I've probably got too many for the amount of GMing I've done) If I did go out and buy a new monster supplement then it would probably be either Legacy of Dragons or Monsteromnicon. Plus I've still got my old 2e MM for inspiration and all the monsters I can get online.

I've got and I love it. Great monsters for all CR ranges. Plenty to love for both fans of both crunchy/tactical and fluff/flavor aspects. I particularly like that for a few of the mastermind monsters' entries, they included a table for randomly generating an entourage.

I recently purchased Tome of Horror II, and it will take me years to get through all the things I want to use from that, so no MM III for me. Plus I can't buy it electronically :]

One more thing: Crabapple and Jarvis. I preface these remarks with a comment that I do not wish people ill in the course of their employment but the "art" that these two churn out is woeful.

Jarvis I can live with. Dennis Crabapple McLaren's art is absolutely atrocious. I'm sure he's a nice fellow who pays his taxes and is kind to small children and animals, but WotC, if you're reading this, PLEASE find him something else to do!

I miss Swenkel and Lockwood's art. They, along with Wayne Reynolds, helped define the 3e look. Granted, Mr. Reynolds sometimes has "issues" with perspectives and proportions, but his work is dynamic enough to make it worthwhile. I mean, with his work, if you see someone giving out a beating in a scene, you almost feel sorry for the recipient!

I preordered it from Amazon, but I preordered Complete Arcane in the same order for the free shipping, and I think that means they'll be shipped together :(

And Wood, and DiTerlizzi... They're underused.

And postures! While dynamic, he's overdoing the shambling, lurching poses. Gimble (3.5 PH) and Hathor (3.0 D&Dg) are the only examples I can recall of when he doesn't fall in that trap...

Disgruntled hardcore and screaming

"Monster X in Faerun"
"Monster X in Eberron"
... wheres my Monster in Oerth????

I might get it... then again I might just stick with my games current format, low monster level, high inter human conflicts

I voted NO because I will have 5 friends with it. heh
