Monster Manual Updates

I couldn't agree more. I have just commented in another thread that I like rules that are actually maintained and updated to a professional standard - this would be a good example of just that. I wouldn't even mind if it was subscriber-only DDI material, to be honest - it's the sort of thing that might have been in a (paid for) magazine in days of yore.

Agreed. Bring back the monster updates, and see about errata to monsters from supplements like Open Grave and Manual of the Planes. The tidier they can make things, the better off we'll be when 5e hits.

Agreed. I really find those useful. Along with the Against the Giant adventure 4e adventure series, they are at the top of why I'm subscribing to DDI.

Oh dear! The updates are one of my favorite columns. They give excellent insight into just how much monster design has changed since MM1 was released.

They're really instructive for doing my own conversions.

mudbunny, I'd be obliged if you would mention this to the folks at WotC in your next report- there isn't anything I can think of off-hand that I have been happier to see out of DDI than monster updates in the last six months or so.

To my recollection, Logan Bonner (currently freelance) has written all of them. He'd be the guy to track down in order to get the straight dope.

Edit: I also think they're great. ;-)

Edit Edit: Maybe I should just take the initiative and pass this thread to him. That's a good idea. Yeah, I think I'll do that.

Hey, folks! There are currently no plans for doing more Monster Manual Updates. I hear there's a series in a similar vein coming up from a different author, but don't expect more updates to MM1 monsters any time soon.

Glad you liked the series, and I hope you got some appropriately nasty monsters and story ideas out of it!
