Monte Cook's secret project

Striderman

First Post
This is just speculation on my part, and maybe somebody else has come up with this already, but I think that I have a good idea what Monte Cook's secret project might be. "The Book of Vile Darkness." Think about it, it fits pretty much all the clues I know of (look at the rumors page for a list of some of the known clues so far). My guess is that it would be a book all about playing evil PCs and running evil campaigns. But doesn't it fit? It's a magic item, an artifact, in fact, from the DMG. Lots of people have gotten into playing evil characters, and have likely pined for a book about it. A book with a name like that, especially one for a role playing game, is bound to inflame a nut like Jack Chick (nuts like him give Christians a bad name, have you seen his web site?). I sure don't know anything that has been done officially for D&D before that specifically for evil characters (although I wasn't very heavily into 2nd or 1st editions). It sounds like "lots of icky goodness" (or evilness) to me. Finally, what dark acts could be more vile to behold than gnomish fetishism (ewwwwwwwwwwww)? actually, I know people who really would get off on that, but then I know a number of disturbed people.

*sniffs* Do I smell troll?
Something smells, that's for sure.
I think we're all looking at a troll right now though.
And it's name is "Topic: Monte Cook's secret project", boy that is a big name isn't it? :)

Based on these two clues:

"named after a DMG magic item"

and

"could be described as a Gnomish Kama Sutra"

I'd vote for any of these possibilities:

Philter of Love, Oil of Slipperiness or Keoghtom's Oinment!

Never knew it could be used that way, eh?

Yes Monte does have two secret projects. One, the one that Striderman is reffring to, is for WOTC and Monte has already completed. The other is Monte's own Malhavoc Press project and he has yet to start working on it. There is a thread regarding the Malhavoc Project here.

And yes the book of Vile Darkness has been suggested before as well as the book of infinite spells, and others.

Frankly I am getting a little tired of hearing the same guesses over, and over again.
