More BoED questions

OK,
I've been reading the BoED and I'm starting to think significant portions of it are quite broken. But I'd like some clarification on some stuff. First, ability and/or level drain from sacrifice can be cured via a (greater) restoration spell, correct? Secondly, sacrifice "damage" occurs when the spell ends, so an instantanious spell ends, well, right away. If both of those statements are correct, it seems that many of the spells are way too powerful.

Valent steed (sanctified 6) gives you a unicorn or pegasus for a steed for a full year. The price is d3 points of STR drain, which can be cured right away. Cry of Ysgard (sactified 7) would seem to give you 2d4 (max 4?) CR 9 servants for a year, again with a 1d3 STR drain. Call Faithful Servants does summon much weaker folks (2HD outsiders) but gain, you can have a bunch of them, and they last for a year. (Cleric 6, Wiz/sorc 5 must not have cast any Conjuration spells in the last 3 days)

I also think that Luminous Armor (+5 armor bonus, -4 penalty to melee attacks against you) is huge for a level 2 spell, esp. with its duration. Sun mantle (Sanctified 4) gives DR of 5/- and causes any melee attacker that does damage 5 points of damage.

Perfect summons is nasty nasty nasty against evil conjurers. I realize that the BoVD had a similar spell, but dude, this is like making a fighter do all their damage to themselves in a 40' radius!

Finally, the Rebibutive Amulet is gross. 56K Gold gives: + 2 sacred bonus to AC, 1/2 of all melee damage taken is instead dealt to the attacker (round toward the attacker).

On the whole I like BoED, but some things seem a bit too much. Any "really good" high-level (13+) cleric just got a steed and some kick-*** outsider rangers. At 13th level, each of those rangers (from Cry) are as good as a follower. (CR9, ECL11).

Am I missing something?
