D&D General [+] More Robust 'Fantasy Race' Mechanics for D&D-alikes / Redeeming 'Race as Class' for Modern D&D [+]

The problem with mentions at the table is I don't recall them later to fix. We work with physical copies of the books. I'm a DTP nerd.
Sorry, DTP means...?
Good printer, book binder, etc. And even with other peoples' work I'm a poor proofreader, after a page it all blurs together,
I used to be big on physical books at the table but have come to love having the game rules etc. online because:

--- everyone can see them at once if needed, no more passing the book(s) around the table
--- I can edit or tweak things without having to re-print multiple pages (I'm a real cheap-ass when it comes to the ripoff known as printer ink)
--- I can present more material and-or in greater depth, while also having short-form versions
--- spilling tea doesn't stain a webpage.

Desk Top Publishing, I write to print.

I am old school, I don't like a sea of laptops obscuring the view of the other players. I will admit that if not gaming at home a tablet full of pdf files beats moving a small library.

Laptops are overkill, and a nuisance. Tablets are fine, as are phones.

And the files are online, on a webpage, meaning they can be accessed from anywhere including between sessions.

Old eyes son. I need big screens.

First Principle: Files not on your computer are not your files. Look up "Topica" in an idle moment for an example, or "Megauploads" for a more recent one. In short honest users that trusted "the cloud" lost all their data. You can have them online, but don't trust that.

Am I weird or is that part of the fun?

That is a fair point, Buy a color laser printer and pay a Hell of a lot less for better quality. Oh, and if it sits for three months toner doesn't dry up.

I can do that in print as well.

It doesn't do a tablet much good, and the book is cheaper. NO uncapped beverages at the table. I've had incidents. In fifty years some stuff has gone down. I haven't had anyone die at the table...yet.

All the files are also on my computer, as I do the coding* here then upload it.

* - well, I tell the program what to do and it does most of it for me.
