[Mor's End Discussion] Administration

I think I see what happened. the Word document and the latest posted version *are* the same, right?

I had only checked the "History of the House Kelvin" section, where you introduce both Erekh and the house Kelvin... but you don't actually say the two are related! That has to wait until a single mention under "History of Mor's End" which says "...his tribe, the Kelvins..." Guess I just assumed nothing significant had changed. Sorry about the confusion.

I do think you should at least mention explicitely that Erekh is from the clan Kelvin under the "House Kelvin" section!

I think we should keep the passages under the city as vague as possible, for that matter I think many things need to be kept vague so they can fit in with any world or setting. We might want to come up with some hints or plot hooks for it but that's about it.

I think the history should be considered done, we could use a fact sheet with dates and population history or a introduction or maybe even a timeline but those should just follow the history that has been written.

Wiz here,
I've got to apologize to everyone. I took a new job 5 weeks ago and find myself swimming in new responsibilities, headcount, budget and R & D issues. I've been unable to post to Mor's End or even participate in my normal groups' game sessions. This is the first time I've even logged on in goodness knows how many days.

I need to officially bow out of the city threads as Minister of Govt. Affairs. You've carried on without me quite nicely and I thank you for letting me participate. It'll be at least another month before I'm back to a half normal schedule.

I wish you all the best.

Good work jdavis! I like the look of that table. Tell me, is there new work I should be doing for the Religion section (5E)?

We haven't really fleshed out any clerics or churches at all, your religion backstories were great, we just need some churches on the map. We don't know anything about the religions as organizations.

I'm going to try to make a push to get a combined work together even if nothing new gets added. It would be a shame to let all the wonderful work people have done just slip away because it never got archived into one place (even a incomplete one).

I agree with the impulse. I'll try to contribute some text over the next little while.

I'm back... well sort of...

Hi gang... sorry for the long disappearance, but over the last couple of months I've sold my house, moved, and have been bombarded with work. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel now. I should be able to devote more time to Mor's End by the end of July.

Some quick thoughts on the Mor's End project... after spending quite a bit of time away from the project, I have now had an opportunity to step back and give it a critical once over. A couple of things...

1. I think we have enough NPCs and plothooks to last a really long time. I think the remaining NPCs can be filled in with specific contests or written in by one of the hardcore contributors.

2. Names... I think we really need to take a hard look at NPC names and make sure they are consistent with this setting. I've noticed names of European and Fantasy derivation. Consistency is important to make Mor's End believable.

3. One of the design criteria we tried to follow was to make Mor's End fairly generic so that it could be fit into nearly any campaign. Looking back, I think this was a mistake. The best parts of Mor's End are the ones that aren't generic or modular at all. The details that will make Mor's End a compelling place for PCs are the ones that make it stand apart from the rest of the campaign world.

Anyway... those were just some thoughts I had after re-reading some of the material. Again, I hope to be back in the swing of things by the end of the month.

Being as the whole thing has ground to a halt in the last month or so I'd say we should just try to edit and archive what we have ( I've got a ton of stuff I saved and have been trying to sort out). Once the archives are made we can see if we can get this going again for new information but I don't want to loose what we have.
