If I were going with a saucer it'd be the one from Forbidden Planet.I was flip-flopping over Valley Forge or the saucer from "The Day the Earth Stood Still", but realized the latter would just be it being my favourite movie speaking.
Count yourself lucky. After thinking about remakes of classic works featuring flying saucers I leapt to Lost in Space, and immediately got the movie's version of the theme song stuck in my head.(Dammit. Now that song's gonna be looping in my head for the next 24 hours.)

A lot more people worldwide are going to recognize Space Battleship Yamato than TARDIS, that's for sure. I'm not sure that North Americans appreciate how iconic it is. On the other hand, Star Wars and Star Trek? Probably not as big as you think, outside the English-speaking world.You think the average person on the street worldwide knows the Vindicator or Yamamoto?
