I would guess no, seeing as your talkingabout a katana which is curved, and a long sword is strait.
 

You wacky munchkin, it's like a non-exotic larger kukri.

You'd think so, but none of the players in my group seemed to mind. My basic idea was goblins with scimitar-like weapons. So using what looks to be the pattern, I constructed them in that way. It might be cheap if the major amount of my players were halflings or kobolds, or something, but at the point I doubt it'd matter even then!

In my opinion, Kukris are a big waste of an exotic feat anyway...
