D&D 5E Movement & Readied Action

Hi Folks,
A quick clarification on this. I understand that one cannot move and attack using a readied action. However, can one move on their turn and then ready their action and be able to attack as their reaction? I would think one could do this but it isn't overtly clear to me (as I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed). Any input on this would be appreciated. Thanks!!

yep, readying an action is an action, therefore a character can move. Use a bonus action if applicable (rogue with scimitar of speed is a popular one). and then as their action ready an action. If hasted they can use the haste action as well. There are some limitations that it is important that many effects like extra attack state "on your turn" so if a 5th level fighter was to ready an attack they would not get the use of extra attack on the readied action for this reason.

Another note is that the Ready Action is not limited only to Actions. (Capitalization is intentional) In the example below, from the book they use an interact with object action and a move action as the readied actions. Because it is not capitalized, it is not referring to the "Action" as a defined term in the book but more as a colloquial term like thing you do. This could concieveably be any type of thing one can do within the span of a single action. Use a racial ability, make a perception check to disciver a hidden opponent, make an attack, bonus action spell cast etc.

From the book p193:
you choose The action you will take in response to that trigger, or you choose to move up to your speed in response to it. Examples include "lf lhe cultist steps on the trapdoor, I'll pull the lever that opens it,"and "If the goblin steps next to me, I move away."
