MSNBC Story: Starfleet, we have a problem

Or perhaps the thing to do is 'shake the etch-a-sketch' and start over. Announce that the time has come to start coninuity over and go from Enterprise on as though the series had just begun.

Do a Strazinsky and have the rough history for, oh, the next hundred years lightly penciled in, so you know where you're going.
Do a proper bible for the darned tech speech! (My biggest ST gripe.)

And get some good S.F. writers, who know what they are doing!

The Auld Grump, who liked DS9, but was 'eh' about the other series... But loved the original as a kid.

And for added irony, the article was for MS *NBC*.

I didn't catch that. Good eye!

I've also read that Braga can't take any form of criticism. That's not a good thing, and that might be why the show may not have good writers. If he's got too much ego, it's definitly not going to help with fresh creative minds on the staff. That includes the novel writers, some of these people have been creatively involved with Trek longer than Braga, and they have their own preconceptions of the Trek universe. That's a recipe for a lot of ego conflicts.

You said it. He should've taken a tip from Data's speech from Nemesis: "Because I aspire to be more than I am," although in Braga's case, starting from nothing is kinda a steep slope to climb :p.
