Multiclassing and Inspiring Word

When you multiclass to Warlord, you get a Daily use of Inspiring Word. Does this mean you can use it twice per encounter, but only one encounter per day, OR does it mean one single, solitary use?

Same for Cleric multiclass.

Cool. On another issue we've been having, if you're Slowed, you can still Run, adding 2 to your speed, right?

One thing to note about inspiring word, remember it scales as the warlord one does, so at 6th the healing improves, etc.

As for the above issue, that's a whole thread in itself, as there are a lot of arguments back and forth on that one.

Actually, that one's in the FAQ too, and it's pretty clear: Yes, you can Run while Slowed.

These answers will annoy a player in our 4e game, who argued the opposite on both of them.

Yes, what's your prob with slo-mo running? It's one of the first techniques you need to master if you're gonna be any kind of a real hero! :p

FWIW we play with slow being a hard limit of 2 on your movement (you can't run or double move or anything to go faster). In our games Ray of Frost, Sleep and other effects which have slow are considered to be valuable powers.

I've seen a number of people on ENworld mention that they thought that slow was virtually worthless... but they were using slow in the way described above, where people could still run (and perhaps other stuff).

I only mention this because it might be worth monitoring the effectiveness of 'slow' powers in your game if you allow more than 2 movement to slowed creatures - see what impact it has on the usefulness of those powers.

Cheers

We have not had a problem of running while slowed in our games. It allows you to double your movement but the penalties for running are fairly severe so that it's not something done lightly. Those 2 extra squares cost a lot.
