D&D 4E Multiclassing theory for 4e

Yes, I can and will certainly look at it when the books are out, but the question is, why can't they just tell us now? Is it gonna hurt business so much? Are we gonna be so sad that we won't be able to be surprised about multiclassing anymore when we get the books?
Because apparently if they were to show us examples of how muticlassing works, there'd be absolutely no reason for us to buy the core rulebooks when they came out. At least, that's what I've been told.

In SW Saga edition when you multi class you actually only get a few benefits. Your list of class skills now covers both classes, but this means nothing unless you take the skill training feat. You get some of the defenses of the new class. You get one of the new classes starting feats. And the real reason to take another class is the you get to pick from the new classes talent trees. In 4e terms you get to select from that classes list of powers.

Although 4e and Saga are obviously far enough apart in design that there are limits to what you can guess from that. For example 4e powers have levels and Saga talents don't.
