Multiple Deadly Precision?!

Ok,

In the Complete Adventurer is the magic weapon ability Deadly Precision, which states:

A deadly precision weapon deals an extra 2d6 points of damage when its wielder makes a successful sneak attack. This ability does not bestow the ability to make sneak attacks upon a user who does not already have it.

Since it doesn't say anything about ranged weapons enchanted this way bestow the power onto their ammunition I am going to assume you can't (if someone knows otherwise, please let me know.) However, what if you had enchanted some arrows? If you had +1 Deadly Precision arrows and then used two of them in conjunction with the Manyshot feat, what would happen?

We all know that precision damage is only applied the once so this imaginary character would only roll his/her -base- sneak attack damage once. But what about the Deadly Precision? Would only one take effect and they still only get a +2d6 (and a wasted magic arrow) or would both work for a net result of +4d6?

I don't have the book, but are there tables of melee and ranged abilities? And if so, does it appear on both?

But apart from that, it says it works on a successful sneak attack. The second arrow doesn't deliver a successful sneak attack, so the deadly precision is wasted...

No, there is no table in the Complete Adventurer that lists melee and ranged special abilities :(
Would it be possible to apply the deadly precision of two weapons in any scenario? The master thrower prc in Complete Warrior has the palm throw which allows two weapons thrown with one attack roll and damage is resolved seperatly. I guess my question is: can the rules for precision damage for many shot be applied to other similar situations, or are they only usable for the feat itself?

Thanks,

The general rule for volley attacks is 'precision only once'.

Volley attacks are anything where you have multiple damage sources with a single attack - Scorching Ray, the Orb spells, Manyshot, 3E Shuriken, and the like.

Last question on this.. Promise

A deadly precision weapon deals an extra 2d6 points of damage when its wielder makes a successful sneak attack.

Technically speaking, the extra damage occurrs when the -wielder- makes a successful sneak attack. So if a successful sneak attack occurrs with a volley attack, then the precision damage itself is only applied once but wouldn't the 'extra' damage be applied twice since both weapons in the volley attack are part of this sneak attack?

Or is this too nitpicky?

the Greater Manyshot feat in the Exanded Psionic Handbook has what you are looking for in terms of a volley and spread out precision damage.

Very true, I had forgotten about that. But what about in terms of my previous Master Thrower example where Greater Manyshot isn't available?
