Multiple Ride-by Attack and Trample Questions?

1) Can a rider utilize both of these feats in one round of attacks?

2) When you are conducting the trampling attack after the a successful trip attempt and overrun, do you add both the +4 for the opponent being prone and the +2 for the charge?

3) What about AoO's against someone doing both Ride-by and Trample (if they can do both at once) on you?

4) If you are riding a special mount do you get additional attacks when you are passing by? For example, do you get a standard action attack or is it the one trample attack only?

5) If you get the standard action attack from #4 is it at +6 (+4 for prone, +2 for charge) also?

6 and most important!) If your mount has Pounce and you have Trample, can you do both in the same round?

7) If you get the full round attack because of Pounce in combination with trample (#6), do you get the same +6 bonus that I mentioned in Question #5?

Yes.

If the opponent you are trampling is the target of the charge, yes.

3) What about AoO's against someone doing both Ride-by and Trample (if they can do both at once) on you?
No AoO due to Ride-by Attack.

4) If you are riding a special mount do you get additional attacks when you are passing by? For example, do you get a standard action attack or is it the one trample attack only?
You might be able to make an attack, but your mount should provide cover.

5) If you get the standard action attack from #4 is it at +6 (+4 for prone, +2 for charge) also?
Yes, but your mount should also provide cover.

No. If your mount can pounce, let it. It is better than trampling.

7) If you get the full round attack because of Pounce in combination with trample (#6), do you get the same +6 bonus that I mentioned in Question #5?
You cannot do both at the same time. You would get the +2 to your attack rolls for charging.

No AoO due to Ride-by Attack.

3A) What about for the Overrun? You should get one for that.

You might be able to make an attack, but your mount should provide cover.

4A) I see that I worded this question incorrectly... What I meant to ask was does the mount get any additional attacks if the creature has them when passing by on a Trample or just the one attack afforded by Trample?

Yes, but your mount should also provide cover.

5A) How much cover does a mount provide?

Dr. Zoom

Question 8) When trampling, must you pass over your opponent or can you stop directly over him?

Thanks for the help!!!

2) yes

3) you only get one AoO per enemy even if you have combat reflexes

5) yes

6) i don't think so - or would not allow it in my game

7) you cannot get a full attach when performinga a charge- only a partial action- so no- you only get +4

I think you are wrong here... You do get the full attack after the charge with pounce. I agree with Dr. Zoom, you get the +2 for the charge only, not +4 for the Trample.

No AoO due to Ride-by Attack, if the overrun target is the target of the charge. It works like Spring Attack.

Just the one trample, unless otherwise specified.

5A) How much cover does a mount provide?
That's not an exact science, but at least 1/2 cover.

Question 8) When trampling, must you pass over your opponent or can you stop directly over him?
I cannot think of any reason why you cannot stop over your opponent, although that might prove just as dangerous for your mount.

I see that I was wrong about the Overrun. They clearly do not provoke attacks of opportunity. It is the move into the occupied space that normally provokes the AoO.

Since in my case Ride-By Attack is used in combination with the Trample (Overrun) then the AoO is waived.

Other facts that I've discovered.

When conducting the extra hoof/claw/rake attack due to a successful Overrun (bonus from the Trample feat) then you do NOT add the +2 for the charge. The +2 for the charge is factored in the +4 bonus. You do add the +2 for the charge when conducting the melee touch attack to start the trip.

Here is my last question... I think...

9) When you make the melee touch attack needed for the Trip attempt in the Overrun, do you deal any damage with the attack?

9A) Since you are charging, if you use a lance do you get double damage if you do indeed deal damage?

Ehm... just take into account that Ride by Attack provokes no AoO for YOU, but for your MOUNT!
From Sage Advice, Dragon 306 (April 2003):

"In the case of Ride-By Attack, the mount's movement also does not trigger an attack of opportunity, so long as the character with the feat is riding the mount."
