Munchkin: The multiclassing

I know this is powergaming and I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone. But this is an idea to solve the multiclassing problem.

The idea (very simply) is to simply apply the class templates in the DMG to the character. Obviously you'd have to change a lot of other things (perhaps have the process cost 4 Feats or make it free but make everyone have one) and you'd have to balance it out in Encounters (basically doubling the "Encounter budget").

It also opens the idea of having Lich or Vampire player characters later on (simply by applying the template)

What does everyone think of a game like this?

Sounds like an interesting idea. The nice thing might be that this kind of templating makes it a lot easier to calculate appropriate encounters. Use the same level of monsters, but add XP worth one monster of your level to balance.

Good be a good way to make "Gestalt" rules for 4E, and to make solo or "less then 4 players"-play for existing adventure paths easier.
