Munchkinizing for movement rate

The marshal class can add speed -- at high levels, marshals make good cohorts. There's also the psionic power hustle, which grants an extra move action. This is great, because it effectively multiplies your speed by 1.5.

Don't forget the low lvl psionic powers burst (+10') and skate (+15' on flat surfaces).

It seems to me that anything you can come up with here is going to have a hard time matching simply getting a character to the point where it can shapechange into a dragon with a fly speed of 250 (or some other creature with tremendous speed) and then applying effects on top of *that*.

Why Ehlonna anyway? If there is a thematic reason I'd like to know, otherwise the other two dieties with the celerity domain both have the freedom mantle.

I like Ehlonna, and she seemed most appropriate to go with the alternate druid. But I might go with Fharlanghn -- it just depends on what 2nd domain I want.

Chupacabra: Many people, including me, think dash is crappy because a +5 ft bonus doesn't seem worth a feat. Your mileage may vary. :)

IanB: Shapechanging into a dragon may be easier, but easy isn't what I want. If I wanted easy, I wouldn't have spent 30 hours working on this silly character already.

Thanks for the psionics ideas, guys. I'll have to consider them.

Yeah, the recent threads about being all munchkiny is making me want to give it a whirl as a joke. I would never actually play a character like this, but do want to make a character with a huge movement rate.....maybe throw him into my homebrew world.

After I my finals are over, I think I'll work on a base speed munchkinized character.

Cyberzombie: Are you going to play this character? And if so, what would you concentrate on? (In terms of melee, ranged, spells, singing? [Ala Elan from OOTS])

I'm going to play the character, though I'm still deciding which ideas in the thread to use. And I may have to sacrifice some of them for playability -- my character's most likely going to have to be the main fighter. The other two characters are going to be a binder (from Tome of Magic) and some sort of eladrin (from Savage Species). So I'll have to cover melee in addition to speed.

If the DM allows psionics, seems like a Xeph psychic warrior would be the easist route, taking skate as one of your powers. Note that even though the main bonus provided by skate is enhancement, the extra +15 for going down hill is a fully stackable circumstance bonus. ^_^

With speed of thought as one of your feats, you can pull off base 30 + 10 insight + 10 competence + 15 enhancement +15 circumstance = 80 feet going down hill. At first level! :)

By the time the xeph gets to 9th level, that'll be another 20 feet added onto that. Taking hustle and lions charge (both 2nd level powers) will let you get more out of your high speed, and of course both synergize very nicely with the scout's skirmish ability. Taking feats such as leap attack and psionic charge could be profitible as well.

While this doesn't add directly to speed, this is a nifty thing to have. The Phase Cloak soulmeld from Magic of Incarnum (bound to shoulders) makes you become Ethereal anytime you take a Move Action and move at least 5 feet. This means you won't be hindered difficult terrain AND since you are Ethereal, you can move in any direction (even up and down) at will. Be careful though, as the soulmeld temporarily will "flicker" off in between the end of your first move action, and the beginning of your second move action. So you do want to "fly" up, get to sold ground fast :)

I still like it for the bypassing of difficult terrain AND most enemies you go past (or through!) will be unable to make a successful AoO against you. Great for getting out of harms way.

A big boost would be acessing the cheetahs Sprint ability? Not sure of the best way to go about that though...

It may be a little outside the scope of the thread, but any particular reason for wanting incredible speed? Apart from the cool factor?
