I'm not certain of this, but there doesn't appear to be a PL cap on Powers - only on Save DC's and Saving Throw bonuses. So there's nothing to prevent you from buying non-offensive, non-defensive powers like Super Speed or Growth up as high as you can afford.

Is this correct?

What is the deal with the M&M boards? I'm starting to get frustrated that they are always down. And when is M&M 2e going to hit stores?

For some reason I thought the release date was 9/1 but my FLGS says its hasn't showed up in distribution yet and they don't expect it for AT LEAST another 2 weeks!!!

Aaaaaarrrrggghhhh!!!!

The Atomic Think Tank (M&M boards) have been down for a while; they had a database issue which took 'em down. Then they decided they might as well move 'em to a new server, because they were becoming large and unwieldy on the old server. Then the last update said they were unable to remotely upload the DB to the new server, and so had to invoke the assistance of the datacenter's admins. However, some of the data center personnel may have hurricane issues. Thus, delay.

In Internet time, I think it's been centuries. ;)

I keep an eye on www.greenronin.com, to see when they say the books have hit the US & are on their way to distributors. I guess they're still somewhere across or on the Pacific, though.

Me to. I have been holding on to some MnM2E money for about 2 weeks. Every wendsday (new comic book day) at the FLGS tempts that money from my pocket. If MnM2E dosnt arrive soon (or at least if I dont hear something date-wise) then I might not be able to pick it up for at least a few months.

Im weak and an RPG junkie. Please help.

It is not due in until the end of this month or early next month as it is on a slow boat from China as we speak... I am sure they saved a pretty penny doing this :(

As for their boards... well as I have been told they are "free" and so they will get them up when the get them up. Its not like we deserve them but I wonder as more and more people come online... when the day will come when instead of only 10% of a game companies business coming from the internet it is the other way around?

I do 'judge' companies by a lot of factors (not just the quality of their games) and these are two that are making me a bit uncomfortable...

Oh well not that it really matters

I dont mind them saving money on shipping, they get to spend it on other stuff, like Ramon perez :) , and I dont mind them taking some to time to improve the boards.

An update as to the whereabouts would be nice. As a matter of fact they should just give us the tracking number (like UPS uses) so we can see the books slowly make their way across the world. It would't curb my MnM jones but at least i would now roughly how long I have to wait.

Its the not knowing, and the waiting.

To be fair, foreign printing costs are so much lower it would be nothing short of fiscally irresponsible not to take advantage of them. Most small presses -- at least comics, not as experienced in gaming -- would shutter in a heartbeat if not for Korean or Hong Kong publishing bargains. The only way cover prices stay even close to reasonable (and many aren't) is from overseas printing.

Having said that -- that there's no .pdf, even a higher-priced premium .pdf, strikes me as a tad insane. I have my monies here, in my hand! Why will you not take my filthy monies?!

Yeah, I'm with you on wanting PDF. I end up doing adventure prep during lunch at work, and having the rules in PDF (or HTML, or whatever) is really handy. Slap 'em on a CD or a flash drive, and wherever I am, I have what I need.
