Here is my ugly formatted Swordmage for 3x. Of course I'd finally figure it out just as 4x is on the horizon but thats gaming for ya
a note or two --
I'd allow this as a preferred class for Elves
Wizards and Sorcerers IMC get a d6 for hit points, Rogues get a d8 Rangers a d10 --
that being said, here is my Swordmage Class for your inspection
Alignment -- Any
Hit Dice D8
Medium Bab
Skill Points 2 (IMC its +2 for all additional classes)
Class Skills
Knowledge/War, Intimidate, Knowledge/Arcana, Craft, Profession, Spellcraft, Jump, Swim, Climb, Ride, Handle Animals
Proficient
Light Armor, Simple Weapons, Martial Weapons
Special Abilities
L1 Armored Caster: Light Armor may cast in light armor w/o spell failure
Spellswords gain 1 automatic spell per level gained rather than 2
Spellswords do not gain scribe scroll or a familiar
they do gain Bonus Feats which may be general, fighter or wizrd bonus feats or the special class feats

Armored Caster Medium -- gain proficiency with medium armor may cast w/o spell failure
Armored caster Heavy -- gain proficiency with heavy armor may cast w/o spell failure
Shielded Caster -- Gain proficiency with all shields except tower and other exotic shields, may cast w/o spell failure
Edge -- gain 1 use of the Warmage's edge ability. This feat may be taken multiple times, the uses gaines increases to the number of times the feat is taken.
Spells
As Wizard -1 per level per day . If the per day amount is reduced to zero any bonus spells still apply (IMC Bonus L1 spells apply to cantrips )
An example
Jared the Swordmage is 5th level with a 16 Int
he can prepare
3 cantrips
3 l1
2 l1
1 l3
For comparison his sister Jara a wizard with a 16 INT can cast the following
4 cantrips
4 l1
3 l2
2 l3
