My adventure has been published as a novel

A fine fellow by the name of Will Kooiker has written a novel based on my 2004 ENnie-nominated adventure "World of Whitethorn 1B: The Village of Oester". It's called "Tower of Ruin" and it's now available at Indie Press Revolution.

The book has gotten great reviews and I think it's a very entertaining read that brings you adventure back to it's core elements: true friendship, wacky encounters, and a final resolution. I really liked how he developed my characters, especially the main adventurers.

It's also interesting because a small publisher's module turned into a novel that's now selling at Amazon.com, too. Totally unexpected.

I actually don't get any royalties from this until it sells really well, but I think it's a fun read and I get a kick out of the characters being so well fleshed out by SOMEONE ELSE! It means people really understood them.

Please do and let me know what you think. I enjoyed it a lot and it kinda reminded me of the older classic fantasy books, like by Poul Anderson.

The characters seem approachable and you feel like they're really bonding together and care about each other. It gives a warm feeling while you're reading it. And there's a great action scene that is described very entertainingly. You feel like you're right there.

Very cool. I guess this isn't quite a first, but I really can't think of many adventures turned into novels, so that alone is pretty noteworthy

I just came across this thread for the first time. I want to thank all those above who’ve expressed interest in the book, and especially Ed Cha for his help in what (I hope) turned out to be a unique piece of fantasy fiction. Writing a novel based directly off of an RPG module was a lot of fun, and I tried really hard to give it an old-school (i.e. 1st edition) feel. Tower of Ruin won't blow anyone away, but that's okay, it was never meant to. If anyone actually reads it, small-time authors love feedback of any kind, so please don’t hesitate to drop me a note and tell me how much you hated it.
