My apologies to AEG and the Spycraft team

Due to an error in how we prepared the ENnies award cards, Spycraft was not announced as a nominee for Best Game at the ENnies ceremony - and it certainly should have been. This is especially galling to me because it's one of my favorite games; I've played it since v1 first launched, and I love both the system and the company that makes it. You did a fine, fine job on Spycraft 2.0.

We had the same problem with several honorable mentions, including (I know for sure) Template Troves, Volume III: Diseases, Parasites, & Symbiotes, by Silverthorne Games - and there were other honorable mentions as well.

I'm sorry, guys. It shouldn't have occurred Friday night, and we'll be making sure that this sort of organizational problem never happens again.

Thanks, Kevin. We were a bit surprised to say the least, but these things happen. Regardless of the mixup, you guys did a great job of putting together and presenting the ENnies this year. It's a tough job, and we were honored to be nominated in so many categories in the first place.

If you'd like to carry on this conversation further, please feel free to drop me a line at alex@crafty-games.com anytime. Thank you again.

They're talking about the announcement of the winners at GenCon; the voting was long since over (a week or two, IIRC), and everything already decided.

Spycraft *was* on the ballot, so people could (and did) vote for it.

PirateCat was only referring to the ceremony, where apparently the cue card with the nominees' names did not include Spycraft 2.0 - no effect on the voting at all.

Oh, it was definitely on the ballot -- because I was having a damnable time deciding between it and Mutants and Masterminds. :)

I also had a horrible dillema choosing between M&M and Spycraft. I own both of them and think they're both amazing. So to the guys at crafty-games and AEG well done!!! you didn't win but the game is amazing :)

In the end I chose M&M for "Best Game" but chose Spycraft for "Best Rules." I love the innovations that Spycraft put forward, but in the end had to choose M&M2 because our group has played one session of Spycraft, and didn't go back; however, we've played at least three or four games of M&M2 and loved it, so for my group, "plays better" had to get the nod. One of these days, I'm going to try and steer back to Spycraft for a mini-series, though...
