Oh, I don't know, maybe it isn't the money so much as it is the overwhelmingly funny super pretentiousness of your stance.
Depends on your definition of pretentiousness. That seems to be a word people like to use for different things.
Again, I reiterate: People have merely pointed out that they didn't want to sell their campaign, but would rather keep them.
It's a-holes like you and ARP that try to make it sound like we're ripping on those that will.
No, they think the concept that you would think so highly of something so silly is unbeliveably funny. Every single person I have spoken to in which this has come up as a topic of conversation has been paralyzed by gales of laughter by the silly pretentiousness.
So you've surrounded yourself with folks as shallow as you?
How quaint.
Because most people, unlike you, realize that your "special" setting is pretty unspecial when you get right down to brass tacks. Most settings (including yours, which I have looked at) are just not that great. Talking about how you are of such high integrity because you have foregone the money is the absolute pinnacle of arrogant pretentiousness coupled with self-delusion.
If your own campaign isn't "special" to you, then I'd say there's definately something lacking in your playing style (much as I, Halaster, and many others have pointed out time and time again).
Which makes you really, really funny.
Only to those that fail to understand and refuse to admit that it's their own lacking not to understand.
Oh, so instead of the "greatness" you are overwhelmed by the "specialness". I note that on rpg.net you resorted to similar semantics when Justin Bacon responded to you.
Because Mr. Bacon, much like yourself, resorted to misquoting me.
Actually, I didn't even note who you were until you referenced the wizards boards and I went to look at the rpg.net thread in which you post under the Bendris Noulg name. Who you are has nothing to do with the fact that your pretentious statements in this thread are hilariously funny to almost every person I know.
Which has me hopeful that I've moved no where near you... Your friends sound like puds like yourself.
Gosh, what in this thread had anything to do with that thread until you brought it up? I'm not sure, but I'm thinking the guy who ran screaming about the "fued" is probably the guy who thinks there is one.
Who ran? I'm here in your face, refusing to back down as always.
And the Wizards OOP board has what to do with this thread again? Oh, right, nothing. You are so empty of actual content that you have to reference a "fued" that only you think exists and yelp about it. That is amusing in and of itself. (And "flaming dart"?)
I'm of the mind that your interest here is based entirely on those debates. And even if I'm wrong, it's the same self-proclaimed superiority that has you grandstanding now (just as things were seemingly calming down, no less... Another similarity between your posting here and there.)
I don't think I need help when engaging self-absorbed silly people with over inflated opinions of their own self importance such as you.
Who says I'm important? I know exactly what I am: An American that works at [classified] as a [classified] doing [classified], thus my recent move to Virginia so I could work at [very classified]. All I've indicated is that my campaign is more important to me at my table than as a published work.
Find one post here by me or at RPGNet that says otherwise.
Can you?
Oh, my my my... No you can't.
Because I've never made any such statement.
Only those that lack the understanding of what I and others have said perceive our stance as such.
Which only further reveals your own ignorance.
Since this is the first time I have even seen this identity of yours, I put no thought into the subject at all. See, despite what you think, very few people actually care about you or your setting. And most people don't even bother to notice who you are most of the time. I know this is deflating to your self-absorbed ego, but it is true from my perspective. I put exactly zero effort into thinking about Bendris Noulg or any of your other identities.
Heh... This is funny.
This is also why you got involved in
how many flame wars with me, Hal and the rest for
how long?
If you think I "lost" the debate on the OOP boards, you are even more delusional than I thought you were.
It wasn't my posts that the Wizos were deleting.
What you get for starting a futile flame fest in a thread
started by a Wizo.
Oh please. Go back to your tiny circle of self-referential adoring fans where you can have your ego stroked, as opposed to having you work actually subjected to criticism from people who aren't already latched on to you like a lamprey.
I don't have any fans, although I do have several co-designers that share a similar vision for the game as I do.
If you insist. I find internet dueling with people who have intentionally disarmed themselves like you to be kind of boring, but if you insist on making yourself look even sillier than you look now, I'll oblige.
I only look silly because you don't understand how a campaign could be an endeavor worthy of
not selling.
So you can
think I look silly all you want.
It just proves you to be shallow and pathetic.
