My Deluxe Character Sheet - please rate and critique!

I rate this character sheet...

Actually, once I get a version I am finally satisfyed with, I'd appreciate it if you'd make it as a pdf - if only to have an alternative version. Gimme a while longer with this thread, and we'll see what I have changed :)

I PDFized the one you posted - there's some weirdness around some of the boxes, I think it has to do with text boxes obscuring the edges of other boxes, making it look like those edges are gone.

Since some people have expressed a desire for a sheet to keep track of items in body slots, I have included a sheet for that too (with support for Incarnum as well). The picture on it comes from HeroMachine.

One area that you may like to expand, is the box denoting class skills. There should be boxes for at least 3 separate classes, and a section at the top to denote which class the column corresponds to.

Reason: some people multiclass and alternate leveling between the classes. I say 3 (at least) because it is common for 1 main class, 1 multiclass or second class, and 1 for prestige class or for third multiclass. I think 3 would cover it, with 4 classes being overkill for the vast majority of players.

This comes about from the layering/ordering of individual components in acrobat. I believe that when you get the form into acrobat, you can change the order of objects, so that the boxes that have lines are rendered/drawn after the boxes that are blank - effectively putting the boxes with lines on top of the other boxes.

Quite frankly, these are some of the best character sheets I've ever seen.
Cool :), Glad you liked 'em :D

The only things I had any real quibbles with were a few minor 'house rule-y' bits (multiple 'Appraise' slots, FR language list, etc.); and because it was in .doc format instead of .pdf, it took me all of about five minutes to "fix" it. I couldn't have done that with a .pdf, since I don't have a program that lets me edit one. So, here's another voice in support of the .doc format.
Cool - although it is worth mentioning again that the multiple appraise slots are already in D&D one way or the other. Dwarves get +2 Appraise vs Metal and Stone items, as an example. I just intergrated it fully in my games.

I personally like the way the multiple-page breakdown is divided, because by shifting page 2 to page 4 when photocopying onto an 11"x17" sheet, I can have the 'abilities/skills/feats' page and the 'combat' page (the most commonly referenced info, IME) on the 'front and back' sides, and 'equipment/cash' and 'spellcasting' on the inside.
Actually having this on a double sheet isn't that ad of an idea - never thoguht of that one myself, in any case. Thanks for the idea :D

Great work, Nyaricus; I can't wait to see what you do with the 'updated' version you mentioned.
Thanks for the great feedback and the '10' :D The updated version I am still working on a couple minor things but should have it up within the next couple hours. Just a few minor changes, is all it'll be :)

Thansk so much for this awesome pdf man :D It's appreciated. Personally, I found when makign this sometimes you have to fiddle a bit with the text boxes to ensure they weren't cutting off/blocking out the edges. Maybe try that out, and see what happens :)

Thanks for the body slot sheet too. I might have to put that into paint and edit out the Incarnum stuff and print it off. Again, kudos and many thanks :)

You know this isn't such a bad idea. There used to be 2 columns for this on an older version, but I guess they got edited out and I just never looked at it again. Maybe I could make the feats area a little slimmer and see how that looks/works. Thanks for the suggestion, smootrk

Thansk for the 9 :) Sorry, not sure what you mean by b-side paper though. Here in Canada that size is the standard :\

Sorry, I should have said 11" x 17" paper (or is that 432 mm × 279 mm in Canada?). Anyway, it's the size where I can fold it in half and print all 4 pages onto one sheet of paper.

Mostly, I was just being smarmy because I want to print it out and don't have the paper right now :)

Ah, okay, I gotcha.

Anyways, Canadians are a weird bunch. Our pop bottles are in milimetres, we drive by kilometres (though most know miles too), height and weight are usually still in pounds and inches/feet. At least, in my experience. I am kinda an in-between generation, I guess, since I'm a bearded gnome if I know how tall I am in centimentres :p

Version 3.3 is up!

Okay folks, so I've gone through and made some changes which I thought would enhance the sheet (rather than muck with it) and here I present to you the newest incarnation of my Deluxe (that's with an "e" ;) :p) Character Sheet. Inventory has been split into "on Body" and "In Storage", Grapple and Ammunition have been switched around, givein me space for 6 types of ammo (with space to fill in the type) and enough room for the full breakdown of grapple checks. Page 1 also got "Skill points by level" and "Hit points by level" added on, a specific space to fill in max/min ranks, and still had enough room for the "Notable Skill Mods" to stay on :)

Also, for those that were like "WTF" with things such as "Entangling Weapons" here is a link to my Weapon Group Proficiencies page. As a side note, I came up with this thanks to playing Diablo 2 long before Unearthed Arcana came out, so I was pretty surprized when I found out that something very similar was in that book. Anyways, check it out and gimme feeedback - it'd be much aprreciated :)

Again, great work! I actually kind of liked the weapons section better the other way, but the inventory list is better in the newer one. Either way, these are (as I said before) some of the best character sheets I've ever seen. :)

Looks like I gotta get to work 'customizing' this one, too (pretty easy, actually...a little cut & paste on the skill list...substitute Greyhawk languages for Realms ones...done). :)

Thanks again for putting these sheets on the boards.

Regards,
Darrell King
