I'm thinking of collecting all the songs that mention DnD or Fantasy standards on them, and burning them to CD. Can y'all help with some suggestions:

1. Dead Alewives
2. SNL Dungeons and Dragons Skit
3. Guided by Voices - Kicker of Elves
4. Yatsura - Slain by Elf
5. Weezer - In the Garage (I've got my Dungeon Masters' Guide)
6. Rush - Anything from the 70s (Xanadu, Cygnus X1, 2112)

Eagles - Journey of the Sorceror
Weezer - In the Garage (it's about playing D&D)

That's all I can think of for now. I was trying to think of some punk songs, but none come to mind.

Dude, Led Zeppelin. How could you forget Led Zeppelin.

What about "Spill the Wine". I forget who does it. It's made me want to play an overfed long-haired leaping gnome.

2. SNL Dungeons and Dragons Skit

Was there an SNL DnD skit??? I must have missed it.

Well, Sir Osis beat me to the most obvious one. I would add Jethro Tull. Thick as a Brick (the 45 minute version) is all about a young nobleman whose father and brothers have gone off to fight in a war and left him in charge of the manor. Minstrel in the Gallery is a good one too, it mixes medieval imagry with some modern imagry, like a lot of Tull stuff does. Heavy Horses is also a good Tull album for DnD with lots of cool songs.

the SNL skit was the Dead Alewives (it was billed on Kazaa as an SNL skit... they could be wrong)

so far, the cd looks like this:

1. Yatsura - Slain by Elf (really funny)
2. Weezer - In The Garage
3. Sabbath - The Wizard
4. Guided by Voices - Kicker of Elves
5. Rush - Cygnus X1
6. Eagles - Journey of the Sorceror
7. Dead Alewives- Part1
8. Dead Alewives - Part 2

Any more songs that reference Elves, Dragons, Orcs, Castles, heroes, etc??

Led Zeppelin - Ramble On (it mentions Mordor and Gollum)

Led Zeppelin - Misty Mountain Hop

Led Zeppelin - Battle of Evermore (mentions Ringwraiths, Queens and Princes and such)

How about, Suzanne Vega - The Queen & The Soldier?

*Gasp!* Dont' forget Stairway to Heaven by Led Zepplin...though maybe it's called something different and I just don't know it. My uncle had grand plans to write a quest based on the lyrics to that song, but he stopped playing before he ever finished. Would Wheel in the Sky by Journey work? It's been a while since I've heard the song.
