Sorry for the hijack, but since we're discussing Python, I just got the 14 DVD Mega-set of every Monty Python's Flying Circus episode ever made. My geekiness runneth over. :D
I bought it six months ago, BAZING!

my daughter is a fetus, and she loves D&D! :)

Well, my son started running D&D six months before he was conceived! And worked 27 hour a day down at the mill and had to pay for permission to come to work etc etc etc. ;)

Aye, but in my day, we had it rough...

That last bit (..."well, in my day we had it rough...") is one of my fave Python bits.

As far as geekiness rubbing off... when my wife and I got married, every one of my groomsmen (EVERY SINGLE ONE) mentioned in the "Best Men's Toast" that they were glad I was getting married to my wife, Jody, because she would bring a bit of "cool" to our group. They were exagerating a bit, of course, but the general consensus was that Jody is way cooler than most of my friends or than I am.

Shortly after getting married, she and I drove up north to visit her family for Thanksgiving. On the way back we were listening to "A Charlie Brown Christmas" on CD, getting in the holiday mood, you know. So, the song "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing" comes on and Jody starts singing along and then turns to me and says, "The angels! They're harkening!" A slight pause. Then, "They're Harkonen! You know, like 'House Harkonen'!"

I just looked at her and waited for her to realize what she'd done before commenting that, on a scale of geekiness, that was pretty much right up there at the top considering that I have friends with serious geek street cred who NEVER would have come up with that segue.

Then, just last week, she was at work and had to hang up some flyers. She sent one of her co-workers back to her desk to pick up some more flyers. The co-worker returns a few minutes later with a stack of papers in his hands and says, "Are these the flyers you were looking for?"

Jody waves her hand in front of the guy's face and replies with, "These aren't the flyers you're looking for."

:)

.......and then our DMs would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah!

And you try to tell the young gamers of today that, and they don't believe you.
